***Tissue's At The Ready***
To All:
This was sent to me by one of my patients who is a Marine veteran, Bill Feidler.
This should be made evident to the idiots that protest our military for proudly serving our country.

A Few Good Men
At the Golden Triangle Veterans Memorial park on Hwy 87 in Port Arthur , Texas on Monday May 28th (Memorial Day) 2012. My wife and I arrived at 2pm as the band began to play and the service started at 2:30pm. When we got there the pavilion was full but we were able to squeeze into the back left hand corner under the roof in the shade. While the program was going on I was listening to a friend of mine, retired Colonel Chris Lamson, with 25 years active duty in the Marines and I looked over my right shoulder and noticed the old veteran setting on the wall. His wife had been holding the umbrella over his head and laid it down to stand up where she could see the speaker and hear what was being said. When I turned to look the second time I noticed the Marine had stepped forward, picked up the umbrella and was holding it over the older gentleman. You can tell by the shadow that only the left shoulder and arm of the Marine was in the shade. Notice his right hand behind his back standing at parade rest in full dress blues. Not once did he flinch. The temperature forecast that day was predicted to be 90 degrees or more in the shade. In Southeast Texas the humidity can also match the temperature. If you have ever worn a set of dress blues you would understand how hot they are. He stood there until the service was over. When it was over I walked up to him and said “ Thank you for such a kind act for the old veteran” He just looked at me and nodded as if to say, “it was my duty”. As I walked away with a tear in my eye and my heart swelling it made me proud to know that the old traditions are still carried on. It was 57 years ago this summer that I joined the Marines.

Hi Conor.
I went to 2nd Class Diving School in Subic Bay, PI. We had five squids in the class, 13 enlisted Recon Marines and two 2nd Lt. We did our qualification dive to 120 ft to a sunken LST from WWII. Kinda spookie seeing a ship laying on the bottom of the Pacific.
The first portion of the class was SCUBA and the second half was dedicated to “Hard Hat Diving” (Mark V Diving suits). Man, those hard hat rigs were heavy. 35 lb shoes, 80 lb weight belts, plus the spun copper helmets and breast-plates. Couldn’t wait to get in the water to relieve the weight off of our bodies.
The balance of my enlistment was served aboard USS PIEDMONT (AD-17) (my only sea duty station) where we did hull inspections on Destroyers, changed a couple of props, installed zinc plates on the hulls of Destroyers, and installed cofferdams on the hulls so repairs could be made to valves and cracks in the hulls of ships caused by the constant firing of their guns on Vietmam targets.
What a great picture and story you presented. Thank You, yorkie.

Hi Meg!
Have a Lovely Sunday!
(((HUGS)))
Simply.....beautiful.....
For several years, Ive corresponded with a pastor in Nepal who often travels with his church members to distant communities in the Himalayas to preach and plant churches. Recently he sent me his itinerary for the following week and asked me to pray.
His busy schedule revealed that over the course of a week he planned to travel by motorcycle about 160 kilometers (100 miles) to several cities to preach and hand out gospel tracts.
I wondered at the great distances my friend would cover over mountainous terrain, and I wrote to ask how he was holding up. He replied, We had a wonderful time of marching in the mountains with our church members. All do not have motorcycles . . . so we all walked. It was a blessed time. Still more places to go. And then I was reminded of how Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom (Matt. 9:35).
I thought of my reluctance to drive across town in the snow to visit a lonely widower; to walk across the street to help a neighbor; to answer a knock on the door from a needy friend when Im busy; to go any time, any place, any distance for the sake of love. And I thought of our Lord, for whom no distance was too great.

See, I am sending an angel before you,
to guard you on the way
and bring you to the place I have prepared.
Be attentive to him and heed his voice.
Do not rebel against him,
for he will not forgive your sin.
My authority resides in him.
If you heed his voice
and carry out all I tell you,
I will be an enemy to your enemies
and a foe to your foes.
