Prayers and congratulations for you SwampSniper.
I do not get to see your spectacular photos, as mostly I Freep during breaks and such at work and wherever you host the pictures from is filtered.
BUT, reading others comments, without seeing the pictures tells me how good they really are.
Looking forward to ‘seeing’ more of your work.
My MIL (85 yo) recently had eye surgery (for cataracts) too on one eye, everything came out perfect too. So now she's scheduled to do the other eye in a couple weeks from now.
Her problem was with night vision. She still drives but wouldn't at night. Even with her 'new eyesight' she still won't, just to be on the safe side. Her longest trip is to us 'out here', about 26 miles from her house in Chicago. Other than that it's just a few blocks to the store and back for food.
I have a cataract in one eye - it has developed over the years as a result of a childhood injury to that eye. I used to be a very effective marksman, but I have noticed recently that when I am focused on the front sight, the background is so much more blurry than it used to be, and it is impeding my accuracy quite a bit.
I am curious if after the surgery you are able to focus at both close in and far away objects? My eye doctor has not recommended the surgery yet. When I discussed it with him, he said that the replacement lens would be fixed and that your eye would not be able to change its focus.
I haven’t been able to really get out and experiment yet but I seem to be adjusting to range OK. The doctor told me I’ll probably need reading glasses. I’m getting the basic lenses, there are other lens options but they are a lot more expensive and not covered by my insurance. My copay is working out to about 600 bucks for both eyes. If my left eye turns out as good as the right I’ll be overjoyed.
“I can focus a manual focus camera without glasses or an eyepiece magnifier.”
This is great news! This will facilitate bringing many more glorious birds into focus, on doubt.
Great news swampsniper!
Wonderful news and you have such a great testimony......God kept nudging you and you finally listened.....
Does this mean your photo’s will be even better......I do not think is even possible....
Well congrats on the improved vision. My mom had the surgery about 10 years ago, and I remember how eager she was to have the second eye done.
My sister had this done and she is still amazed at how bad her vision had gotten and how well she can see now. She had both eyes done and wonders why she put it off so long. She is 73 and passed her drivers eye test without glasses.
Congrats.
Can’t wait to see some great shots with your “new” eyes.
Don’t rush it though.
Hey that’s great news!
My 90 year old uncle had this surgery in May,and he is also doing well.
Congratulations! I am very happy for you.
Happy for you! Now get the other eye done and you’ll think you are 30 again:))
Congratulations also on the intelligent thread title, such a rare thing in these parts.
That's sound advice, because those guys ~are~ getting up in years.
“You still here? I thought you was dead.”
(Obscure “Big Jake” reference.)
Just pneumonia.
May God and our Lord bless you, SWAMPSNIPER! Many of us out here are grateful for your continued excellent eyesight! Through you, He is blessing us! Thanks for letting us know your good outcome.
