Islamic slavery is going on TODAY supported by
the UN, EU, and US State Dept. (which also
loves women as chattel).

Is that covered? How about the thousand
slaves taken by Islam ... tonight?

CBS and a little FOX is about the only network TV we watch. Commie Pinko NBC blows and is worth blocking on your TV set.

Well Reba, if you really feel that way the why don't you just go ahead and contribute your $300 million towards "reparations". It's the least you can do, and will start you down the path towards being a good person again right? /s

My 4th, 5th and 6th great-grandfathers owned slaves, took them along when they moved from VA to KY to MO. I’m actually proud of their accomplishments. Reba is an idiot.

I am an amateur family genealogist, and use the service that created the show, but the show has a tendency to have too many libs on, IMO. Shame they have to get preachy.

Not guilty. My four-greats grandfather owned a slave in what is now Stephens City, VA two centuries ago. I should say, he had at least one slave - he freed one in his will, probated in 1835. His grandson, my Great-great grandfather, served with the 1st Virginia Light Artillery in the Civil War.

I bear absolutely no responsibility to the descendants of slaves other than to treat them with the respect and dignity to which all God's children are entitled.

Enough of this self-serving PC self-mortification by the chattering class and Hollywood glitterati!

Both sides of Hussein’s family owned slaves.
See him worrying about it?

I have a connection with slaves too. My ancestors mostly fought on the Union side and had their blood shed during the War of Northern Aggression. It was during that war that Lincoln ordered the slaves freed, but only in areas under control of the Confederacy, except the Parishes of St. Bernard, Plaquemines, Jefferson, St. John, St. Charles, St. James Ascension, Assumption, Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Orleans, including the City of New Orleans. [1]

My paternal grandfather had a farm near a small town settled by freed slaves and he often hired them for farm work when he could have hired others. My impression was that he and my grandmother helped them as much as he could.

Does this history that I was never personally involved in, except through the genes that I had no options to accept or reject, make me somehow better than anyone else, or worse for that matter? Certainly not.

How many years ago did we lose the common sense that people are not responsible for the circumstances of their own conception, nor for what their family members did before that moment? Life is to be lived looking forward, with only a glancing look back so as to not repeat the mistakes of others.

Well, she should have done more to prevent this.

I didn’t find anything offensive about that episode. It was actually one of the better ones; Reba was very open with how she felt about her family history and I found the whole thing very moving.

Why are we so quick to find offense in everything?
