Did anyone see the Mel Gibson film
Apocalypto (2006)? I did and it was about this time period, JUST before the landing of the Spaniards. Good movie.
One can find it in the
foreign films section as it is all in the native dialect of those Indians.
Naturally, Hollyweird didn't like it because it showed the Indian culture as it was, blue paint and human sacrifice, all of it.

From my understanding there are groups from Mexico that, with great pride, consider themselves part of this really nasty religion today. They are militant and consider that they are duty bound to take back territories to their demon god/s. They want vast areas of The USA back and secretly plan how to do it.
