04/17/2012 Constitution Party National Convention to Meet in Nashville

Amidst Unprecedented Voter Dissatisfaction with Obama and Romney

Constitution Party National Chairman, Jim Clymer, announced the 2012 National Convention of the Constitution Party which will be held April 18-21 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“American voters who support limited, constitutional government, traditional American values, the protection of American jobs and preservation of individual liberty can take heart! They will not be limited to a difficult choice between Obama and Romney as the one likely to be the least threat to their life, liberty, property and other interests. The Constitution Party will be offering the Constitutional option in 2012,” said Clymer.

The venue for the Constitution Party National Convention will be the beautiful Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, TN. The public is invited to attend but registration is required and anyone wishing to do so should contact the Constitution Party national office at 717-390-1993 for further information. Registered guests will be admitted to all sessions and events, including the gala Saturday night banquet to be held after the conclusion of the Convention, but only delegates who are selected by the respective state party affiliate organizations will be allowed to vote.

Among those seeking the Constitution Party Presidential Nomination is former Congressman Virgil Goode. Goode, who represented Virginia’s 5th District from 1997 – 2009, was a member of the Liberty Caucus, chaired by Ron Paul. Known in the House of Representatives for his outspoken opposition to illegal immigration, his support for trade policies that protect the interests of American workers, for limited government and for cuts in spending along with a balanced budget, Goode joined the Constitution Party in May of 2009 and is now a member of its National Executive Committee.

Other candidates seeking the Constitution Party Presidential nomination include Robby Carr Wells of North Carolina, a former NCAA Division 1 football coach at Savannah State University, Laurie Roth, of Washington, a talk show host and columnist and Susan Ducey, a constitutional activist from Kansas.

The general session of the convention, which will include adoption of the 2012 Constitution Party National Platform and the selection of the party’s presidential and vice-presidential nominees, is set for Friday April

20 and Saturday April 21, with the presidential nominee’s acceptance speech scheduled for 1:30PM Saturday, April 21.

“To the millions of American voters--be they traditional Democrats who once believed that their party spoke for America’s working people, honest, representative government and freedom or Republicans who used to believe that their party represented limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberty—who feel abandoned by their own political parties, I issue an invitation to find out about a new path for America-the Constitution Party (www.constitutionparty.com) and to join the campaign to Save America by supporting the Constitution Party Presidential ticket in 2012,” concluded Clymer.

It's not our fault the Republicans are too stupid to understand anything except losing an election they could have won.

The only way to get someone to understand something is to put it in terms they can comprehend. They've proven over and over again they aren't going to change as long as people will keep voting for them just because they aren't Democrats.

I wish it was different, but it is what it is.

Well, thanks to the GOP being hell-bent on going with a Massachusetts liberal for nominee, I have to admit, I’m quite open to different options for the very first time in my voting history.

Greene, read their principles and platform.

I’m sure there will be one or two items you might think a bit differently on, but you will find yourself nodding in agreement on the major issues of our time: Life, Guns, Immigration, budget, etc.

Besides LET’S ROCK THE SYSTEM! SEND A MESSAGE!

Point of order. Just a question.

Is the Constitution Party on enough state ballots in the General Election to constitute eligibilty to (be in a legal position to be able to) receive at least 270 Electoral Votes? By that I mean, if not ballot qualified in enough states, one and millions of others can vote for them, and they could win every state in which they appeared (almost impossible), but still mathematically have no way to win the Presidency as they would come up short in the Electoral College. That hurdle #1 needs to be cleared in my mind. And secondly, their Presidential nominee for 2012 needs to be a major personality of high stature and high name identification, with experience at very senior levels of business, military or government, in an administrative capacity over many people, a commanding person with excellent television appeal who can draw large, phenmominally large crowds, not just 10 to 15 people here and there in Holiday Inn banquet rooms off the Interstate here and there.

Just my two points, for what it is worth. Maybe that will help.

the Constitution Party represents a long-term movement

If Romney loses in November, the movement will be much faster.

Millions of people will drop the GOP faster than you can say Revolting.

...due to the dearth of public phone booths in today's cell phone based world.

The "Constitution Party" is an anti-Israel John Birch Society/chr*stian dominionist front. When Alan Keyes tried to get their presidential nomination a few years ago they rejected him because he was pro-Israel and anti-terrorism.

They also insist that Thomas Jefferson's "strict constructionism" is the "official" interpretation of that document even though Jefferson was never at the Constitutional Convention and his opponent, Alexander Hamilton, was.

Their probable candidate will be Virgil Goode, a former congressman and senatorial candidate from Virginia.

He is not high profile as you have wanted, but he is knowledgeable of the system, and his campaign knows their way around this media culture.

The issue is do we continue to wait to drill for oil saying it won’t change prices today, or do we start drilling now because it will eventually create more supply.

Oh, great! Another opportunity to splinter the non-Demo electorate and insure another term for ‘the imposter’.

The GOP already did the heavy lifting of splitting the non-dem electorate by nominating a sure loser in Romney. They're sending the message the conservative movement no longer is welcome in that party.

Since Reagan left office, I've settled for Bush I and II, Dole and McCain, in the hopes the party would re-examine itself and move back to a more conservative ideology. Instead, it's been a steady leftward movement, capped by Romney's pending nomination.

Mitt Romney will not win in November. As such, this presents a no-risk opportunity for the conservative movement in this country to realign under a new flag. The estabs have ignored us FAR too long, and it's time to make that long-needed move.

Regardless of who gets the Constitution Party nomination, I know I'm going to be casting my vote for a conservative for President... something I haven't done since... Reagan!

Is the theme this year “Profiles In Irrelevancy,” or “Dare to Distract”?

A better question pertains to the GOP theme: Is it "Limply Reaching Across the Aisle" or "Raising Milky Pastels of Bland Moderation?"

Hopefully. Need to make that move sometime. Why not do it in a year in which the GOP loss is assured (and we know it is, folks)?

Exactly. The entitlement mentality has worn itself out. Romney is not "entitled" to anyone's vote, Obama or not.

The following is a statement from Chuck Baldwin, the CP's last presidential candidate:

To be sure, not all believers agree on the subject of Israel. Christians are divided between pre-millennialism, post-millennialism, and even amillennialism. For the most part, pre-millennialists (such as me) believe that God will yet fulfill the Davidic Covenant with the nation of Israel. Post-millennialists, on the other hand, believe that the Church, which is the Body of Christ, is the complete fulfillment of God's promises to Abraham and David.

As a pre-millenialist, Baldwin had a positive view of Israel. He simply didn't believe in foreign entanglements.

I wish it was different, but it is what it is.

The sad part is... it didn't have to be this way. But too many of us got fed up with the conservatives-are-but-a-necessary-evil approach from the GOP-e. They so soon forgot it was TEA PARTY VOTERS who propelled them to victory in 2010!!!
