On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough delivered a devastating critique of conservative sites that have engaged in a coordinated effort to tarnish the reputation of Trayvon Martin in death.
“Why is it that some on the right are actually taking this up as a cause,” asked an incredulous Scarborough. “As National Review said almost immediately after it happened, ‘this has nothing to do with gun rights, this has nothing to do with the second amendment, this has nothing to do with stand your ground laws, this has nothing to do with the NRA. This has everything to do with a guy who is trying to play security cop, who is unhinged, who chased down and shot a 17-year-old kid armed with Skittles and iced tea.’”
Scarborough warned those yet-unmentioned conservative sites to heed the voices of more enlightened Republican opinion journals, like National Review, to “not take this up as a cause.” Scarborough refrained from naming Tucker Carlson’s The Daily Caller, but he was clearly referencing their publication of Tryavon Martin’s Twitter feed.
Scarborough took particular issue with the efforts to posthumously paint Martin as a thug who deserved to be killed by virtue of his social media interactions. He lamented that “some racist websites, but also sadly some fairly mainstream websites are actually going into Trayvon Martin’s social media pages, be it Twitter or MySpace, and their trying to find ominous looking picture while skipping over pictures of him holding up a birthday cake smiling, him fishing with his dad, him standing outside proudly of his home dressed in a tux ready to go to prom.”
“This is beneath contempt,” said Scarborough. “These people on the far right are being fools to try to make this a political issue.”

The Left can portray Trayvon as a martyr killed by conservatives, but conservatives are not allowed to defend themselves because it is disrespectful to the dead.
Glad we have that cleared up.
It’s okay to slander Zimmerman, but not okay to slander Martin, then?

As is posthumous deification of Martin.
But, Joe, what are these bad things that Martin is accused of doing? Can you be a little more specific?

In Martin’s case it’s not slander.
The Twitter page, his tweets, the photos of him giving the single-digit salute, all of those are real.
The Left are upset because they can’t find a racist rant on any of Zimmerman’s accounts, nor can they find any shred of evidence that he was a racist.
The Left slanders indiscriminately with impunity.
The right tells the Truth about one of their “martyrs”, and they call it “slander”.
They really are a Bolshevik mob.

Hey Joe, you ever think maybe it's because Trayvon wasn't all Skittles and iced tea like your ilk have made him out to be?
The allegations that Trayvon was a gangsta talking, drug using, womens’ jewelry burglar, who maybe fought a bus driver and was on suspension for drugs....
Is relevant to two issues:
1 Whether Zimmerman in observing Trayvon may have had a basis to suspect Trayvon of being up to no good. A pot smoking gangsta burglar tends to present differently than a choir boy honor student.
2 Whether it’s possible that Trayvon was the aggressor. Again, it’s more plausible that a guy who sells or uses drugs, is into the gangsta scene, and already was in trouble at school, would strike out at someone calling the police on him.
Not sure anyone has put together the school suspension with Trayvon being in an agitated, hyper sensitive mood. Duh, he already was in trouble and may have over reacted.
Scarborough is almost as big a moron as Matthews.
Which is actually impressive.
Neighborhood Watch Captain Zimmerman was able to quickly identify Trayvon’s motives and acted to protect his body and property from a thug who Zimmerman determined was up to no good.

Where they find him trying to look and act like a gangster. Since a witness saw him on top of Zimmerman beating his head in, and the press keeps showing us pictures of a 13 year old, its a rather necessary corrective. It would help if the press would do its job, and if folks like Scarborough would stop trying to railroad Zimmerman ahead of any investigation.
Come on, Joe, show some nerve. Come out against lynching.

Scarborough constantly chiming in on mysterious deaths is like the serial murderer who can’t keep from circling back to the crime scene.
Barfborough must be getting a paycheck from the DNC...
This TM thing is just a ploy to divert attention away from Barry Soetoro fantastic three years in office.
