yes, that is so true... next time a big hulking burglar invades the home of a crippled octagenarian with the intent of strangling him I hope the old guy has the sense to make sure he does NOT shoot if the man is unarmed...
Maybe we should make it a rule that it is always nice in a polite society that you ASK FIRST if your assailants are unarmed so that you don;t shoot them unfairly before they kill you
because if only ONE criminal life is saved,.. it will be worth it

Any single incident where an unarmed civilian is gunned down is one too manyI can't speak for others, but if it should happen that you are shot to death at the hands of a mugger/robber while unarmed then I won't miss you one bit.
You're just another victim waiting to happen and and nothing more than eventual statistic IMO.
If you don't value your own life then why should I?

I'm semi invalid, hooked to oxygen 24/7. My days of rough and tumble self defense are long past.
What you seem to be telling me is that I must allow someone younger and stronger to beat on me rather than shooting the SOB!
Tellyawhat, it ain't gonna happen!

Unless the “unarmed civilian” is pounding somebody’s head into pulp against the sidewalk.

How can you make such a baseless statement? However, opinions are like *ssholes, everybody has one!
To: mdittmar
It’s not that simple.
There is still a lot of uncertainty about this case, but one can come up with countless scenarios where an unarmed person might justifiably be shot.

Nope...meant to put in a sarc tag and forgot. Sometimes I think things and type in what I think without adding the appropriate addition to clarify.
Black does NOT equal guilty.
“Thug”, on the other hand...

I believe this was a knee-jerk reaction by both of you based on your previous posts.
This thing has gotten blown way out of control. This isn’t being reported by the liberal news media with the truth, only to stir the flames of those ready to blow it up further.
Shame on everyone....take a step back and look at the truth.
AND when is it legal for a “group” to offer bounty DEAD or alive in this country?
cyborg - love your dress and your testimony posts.

Right, gunning down bad. Self defense, good. Setting kid on fire while calling him whitey, bad. Coming to the aid of a person screaming for help, good.

It's always wrong to kill another human being.
Except when it's necessary.
If it's in defense of your family, it could be your duty.

Neither black nor white equals guilty. Conservatives believe individuals should be judged based on behavior.

No I don’t think colors matters here,If the guy was white and jumped someone from behind and was doing what Trayvon was doing I’d still think Zimmerman had the right to defend himself or anyone else for that matter.
