NEW YORK, March 20 (UPI) -- Actor Robert De Niro has apologized for a joke with racial overtones he made at a New York fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
"Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney," The Hollywood Reporter quoted De Niro as saying during his opening remarks at Monday night's $5,000-a-plate event, which Obama's wife, Michelle attended. "Now do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady?"
CNN reported Obama's campaign press secretary Olivia Alair called the joke "inappropriate" Tuesday.

RACIST
If he REALLY had BALLS he would have asked, “Is America really ready for another term for a usurping Marxist illegal alien with forged birth and selective service documents and his criminally conspiring wife?”
That mighta got him some cred with me.
I presume you mean a joke about Eve, whom I think Henny Youngman knew personally.
And that's only one of their stupid pet tricks.
But you made me smile - it's not often the bitches-who-shall-not-be-named are named. Good on you.
Bwaaaaaaaa, I had him going. He even apologized. Did you see the look on his face?
“Sorry you have to listen to these racist Republicans complaining about my comments.”
Surely, surely you jest ? ?
He’s now amended his remark to say:
“Do you think our country is really ready for a First Lady who is not the size of a Sasquatch?”
Obammy does not want to open up the flood gates of critism of first ladies. He has a wild hair on his hands with a radical agenda targeting fatties who would not hold up well under critical examination. He should stop using his daughters as the objects of the left’s slut and baby killing ideals.
The Left did not come out unscathed with the Fluke fiasco. Turns out - as usual - the Left is the biggest offender of that which they denounce.
Eh, Newt would have to pick his battles. What I liked about what he did in regard to DeNiro was that it was an immediate and sharp public rebuttal to a an extremely racist comment. We need more of that.
The other issue has been hashed and re-hashed. Newt knows better than to harp on it at this point in time.
Right. It's the leftist way of limiting speech. Always has been, going back to the late '70s when pc was first being theorized and field-tested by radical college professors. At that time "free speech" to say nasty things about America, flag burnings, etc. was being advocated and promoted by foul-mouthed comics, leftist political leaders, college professors, their brain-washed radical students, and anyone else who had a gripe against America, It was necessary they said, to voice their opinons, no matter how unpopular, to let their feelings be known in a free society without the government or some governing body come in and tell them that they can't or shouldn't say this or that. But just like the hypocrites they have always been, as soon as they got a little bit of power and started hearing things that they didn't agree with or couldn't tolerate, they began instituting politically correct solutions to keep certain groups from saying things the left didn't agree with. So political correctness in its current form is nothing more than the limitation of certain types of speech that the left cannot tolerate. Of course, they don't say 'uh, we're taking your right of speech away to prohibit you from saying what we find so objectionable'. No they couldn't say this because they would be exposed for the fascistic hypocrites that they truly are --- that they can say or use profane language against whomever they care to or whomever they disagree with politically --- but you and I on the other side of the political spectrum, can't. So political correctness is nothing more than a way the far left can limit speech without actually having to admit that they are in fact limiting freedom of speech. This from the same people who, ironically, toiled and struggled so mightily back in the '60s amd '70s to be free to express themselves however they wish, now that they have attained high positions of decision-making power are reinstituting limitations on speech to construct their fairy-tale perfect, secular utopian society.
Isn’t he the one who told the “I just flew in from New York and boy are my arms tired” joke?
That joke is so stupid it’s funny. (At least to me. :/)
DeDoucheo is a wussy for apologizing.
He’s a complete buffoon, but as an actor, he’s one of the best ever.
