Just reading "New Details on NSAs Spy Center and Secrets From Domestic Eavesdropping Operation Stellar Wind-- The Blaze/ March 16, 2012" http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2860168/posts
reminded me that I wanted to report to you all that the Secret Service spied on a post I set up to report on Obama using the athletic fields of our university here on the eastside of Seattle.
On Feb. 17 Obama made one of his frequent fundraising visits, this time to Washington State to shake down a couple billionaires who live near by. He spoke at Boeing in the morning, then flew to Kirkland.
The trip was a means to raise money for his re-election and was totally funded by taxpayers. SEVEN choppers and what seemed like a about 100 troops.
A couple weeks before the Secret Service contacted our small university, where I work, and asked if we would be willing to let the President use our fields to land seven choppers, including Marine One and Two.
The University agreed. So the day of classes on Friday, Feb. 17 was hopeless. The campus was like an armed military base as soon as the Black Hawks landed. It was so exciting, students didn't want to go to classes. It was like a free day.
Anyway I posted a thread inviting area Freepers to protest. We didn't know the details of exactly when he would arrive, so I kept an update for anyone interested.
Then at post number 15 comments by a user named "NU Grad" appeared. Hmmm. I didn't remember that user name before. He sounded like he was aware of the events and so I figured, OK, a former student in the area is a Freeper and got pinged for Washington State.
But, no. This guy was a Secret Service Troll pretending to be associated with Northwest University. He signed up on Feb. 17. I didn't think of checking when he became a member until later when I figured it out.
Before I realized he was a Government Troll, I Freeper mailed "NU Grad" and told him my name and asked him when he graduated just in case he was a former student who I knew personally. (Stupid me).
No response.
I am sure it was espionage because the admin was told that the Secret Service wanted to monitor our email system.
It would be logical that they would also do some kind of Internet key word monitoring as well.
They had a balcony on a building near the fields packed with some kind of electrical equipment. Guess to dampen road side bombs or something.
We saw snipers and plain clothed agents in the bushes or walking around looking like "students" with back packs, but they were too old to pull it off. Must have been about 8 snipers on the roofs and crouching around corners of buildings.
I mean, I am glad that these guys are doing their job to protect the President. It is impressive that they are so thorough.
But, it is kind of creepy that they pretended to be one of us just to monitor what we were saying.
(NOTE: If I go missing and end up in a secret prison somewhere you know what happened.)
“Before I realized he was a Government Troll, I Freeper mailed “NU Grad” and told him my name and asked him when he graduated just in case he was a former student who I knew personally. (Stupid me).”

The guy posted twice on the subject, you freepmailed him your real name, he never replied, and he’s a secret service agent? Is there something else I am missing here?
Freegards
You ain’t foolin anyone, Mister. :)
Just do what I did: Be honest! That you despise Obama politically, but you are grateful he’s safe!
(Can you IMAGINE the sh*tstorm following an unnatural event???? Gun bans across the board, schools named after him, his bust on Mt. Rushmore, maybe even on US currency!!! NO THANKS!!!)
Wait. I didn't sign up for that. Did I?
"What you say here is read by a LOT of people. Never forget it."
I will not forget it. "Loose Lips Sink Ships." Also, "Say the Wrong Shizit and Get a Visit."
Lazamataz: You only say these cruel and hurtful things because you are a running dog lackey of Wall Street!
NUgrad: You have it on my word that Lazamataz is an enemy of the people and a threat to our beloved genius of the Rift Valley!
Homey don't play dat.
Meh... Very few of my posts are “innocuous”. For those bent on Socialism... I bear them ill will...
And no... I don’t care if they know. I am only one, insignificant person, but the sentiments I express are carried by many...
Agreed. I have strongly suspected this since about 2000. I cannot recall a specific instance, but I do remember seeing editorials, articles and such using the exact words or phrases seen in replies on FR. Not to mention slogans that became bumper stickers, breaking scandals that went nationwide, under-reported stories that got legs and mentions of FR on Rush, Hannity, etc.
I have resigned myself to the idea that I may have a knock at my door one day because I am a regular visitor to FR.
Example: I started saying "I'd hit it" and then it became an internet meme.
:)
No but seriously: I've actually started a meme or two. I remember when Giulani was running, and someone said something that you would kinda have to stretch, to make it an antiItalian slur, but stretch I did, and lo! and behold! In 24 hours it was on Rush. Shortly after that, Giuliani did his Victimy Lap, and he got some traction with it.
Thanks. They have a tough enough detail without us being detractors. They are truly patriotic, as are we. We are natural allies, the Secret Service and Free Republic.
I seem to recall some stories where Jim had very early in the morning visits by the Secret Service over things people posted here.
No matter what we think of Zero, an attack on the President is an attack on our nation, period. The Secret Service has a thankless job but they are the best at what they do.
Ditto
Until or unless we go completely down the dictatorship rathole.....don’t expect a knock unless you say something particularly threatening, especially to the POTUS (doesn’t matter who he is).
What was unconstitutional?
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you need only threaten to report me to the Admin if I dont add you to the list...
"Even paranoids have enemies" Henry Kissinger
You're right - but just think - for a moment - what this technology could do if the country went totalitarian.
Paranoia is the enemy of truth.
The most important thing you can do if you think you’re being paranoid is to slow down, focus, and trust in God to show you the way.
No, I had not been frog-marched in there on an anonymous tip. I volunteered to drive myself over to their office and they said “Come on down!” I told them that President Bush might be in danger in a manner that they might not have anticipated...and no, it did NOT involve a fellow liberal high school classmate...although the thought of reporting his did cross my mind from time to time, given the Bush Derangement Syndrome on display on occasion.
In that room, I explained to two Secret Service agents that Bush could be attacked in a manner that neither the government nor the general public appeared to be aware of...at least from what I could see on the web.
Once they had determined that I was not personally planning such an attack, they accepted some paperwork analysis that I brought with me and then escorted me back to my car where they requested that I allow them to examine the contents of my trunk, which I permitted. I had told them, only partially in jest, that bipolar mania with delusions ran in my family. Their parting words to me were “Mr. Seizethecarp, you might want to get your meds checked.”
I was subsequently able to get a branch of the military to take my speculations seriously, and a high level research director called me to thank me personally for making them aware of the danger.
Last December, after keeping silent for six years, a terrorist incident very close to my speculations prompted me to publish my presidential danger scenario here on FR in a thread, but it was pulled as suspected “loose lips.”
Sometimes there is not a hard line between “loose lips” and “forewarned is forearmed.”
While I was withholding my information from the public I found that the DOD does extensive research on how the president and the US public could be endangered by new technology or tactics and then makes those studies public, so long as secret technologies are not revealed.
By making attack scenarios public, the public can be enlisted to look out for suspicious persons who appear to be enabling themselves to make an attack. I regard my FR vanity as falling into that category, but that is not my call.
Before going public, I had to ask myself "Would I feel worse if a terrorist used my ideas, but at least there had been a chance for defenses to be prepared, or would I feel worse if a terrorist figured out the same vulnerability to an attack that I had imagined and then carried out a successful attack, but because neither I nor the government had not warned to public, the public had been unable to assist in thwarting the attack because they didn't know what to look for?"
Prior to the 911 attacks, there were countless US citizens who could have intervened to uncover the 911 plot if it had not been for "a failure of imagination" that such an audacious attack was possible and which persons to look for to keep an eye out for as persons engaging in suspicious activity. My attack scenario endangers not only the president but the general public as well.
While defensive measures can likely be concentrated on protecting the president from my imagined attack by augmenting existing protections in secret, IMO there is no way that the general public can be protected without getting the word out to the public on what to look for and undertaking expensive new measures.
While I would hope that the Admin Mods here on FR would lift the block on my thread, I understand there sensitivity and I can and have used other internet channels and a blog under the name "2branta" to get my information out there. For an idea striking enough to get pulled from FR, it has generated little buzz, so far, other than a "Thank you" from a Christian Science Monitor reporter, and a "This may be a real threat, but we better not discuss it" from a prominent high-tech entrepreneur, but time will tell.
