Living along New Jerseys 127 miles of coastline has always posed something of a risk.
Terms like coastal flooding, erosion and noreaster have long been a part of the vocabulary of residents on the Shore.
But new research predicts rising sea levels due to global warming will more than triple the likelihood of devastating coastal flooding by the year 2030, putting more than 230,000 beach and bay-side residents in the flood zone.
Put simply, the once in a lifetime coastal storm may soon come around once in a generation.
"Sea level rise is not some distant problem that we can just let our children deal with. The risks are imminent and serious," said Ben Strauss, lead author of "Surging Seas" a new report by the Princeton-based Climate Central, a foundation-funded non-profit organization. "Just a small amount of sea level rise, including what we may well see within the next 20 years, can turn yesterdays manageable flood into tomorrows potential disaster."
The report, published yesterday, comprises one of the most comprehensive studies on sea level rise in decades. It states that nationally, more than 6 million people live in areas less than five feet below the high-tide line and will become far more vulnerable to the threat of coastal flooding with sea levels predicted to rise several inches in the coming decades.

On the other hand the essence of this story is that everybody else has to do something so 23,000 rich property owners with seafront lots can set their shoes out at night so as to not track sand inside.
Plus, all those 1%'ers are too stupid to move uphill in case of flooding.
Sure, we believe that ~ sure!
I hope snookie can swim
Climate Coup The Politics (How the regulating class is using bogus claims )
The above thread does not have a very illuminating title ...but believe me it will make your Hair Stand Up....and explains why the Kiddies MUST believe the Leftists Propaganda ...for their Global Scheme to work!!!

Quick, someone post the South Park F- you New Jersey picture.
There they go again....and they will not stop until they are stopped.
Ohhhh, my God! ...The Humanity!!!!
The level of the sea has not risen nearly as fast as the early alarmist computer models predicted. If the alarmists were wrong then, why should we believe them now?
As New Jersey sinks under the weight of giant garbage piles, researchers say devastating floods could soon wreak havoc on (NJ) Shore towns
Wasn’t this nonsense the grist for one of the funnier episodes of ‘Pinky and The Brain’?
NJ - the armpit of America!
After the flooding it won’t be anymore!
The oceans around the world used to be about 20 to 30 feet higher about 6,000 or 7,000 years ago at the height of the Holocene interglacial warming.
I was of the belief, that once Obama was President, the oceans would recede and the global warming would moderate.
What went wrong?
Have lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast since '86 - haven't noticed any rising of the waters (except when Katrina runined a lot of our days).
“said Ben Strauss, lead author of “Surging Seas” a new report by the Princeton-based Climate Central, a foundation-funded non-profit organization.”
I looked them up on the net, and found this list of their major funders. Reads like a manifesto of big government and leftist crony capital foundations:
Changing Horizons Fund of the Rockefeller Family Fund
Flora Family Foundation
Foundation for Environmental Research
Google.org
Island Foundation
NASA Goddard Space Flight Center
NASA Headquarters
NASA Langley
National Institutes of Health via Johns Hopkins University
National Science Foundation via Columbia University
National Science Foundation via George Mason University
NOAA CICS (Cooperative Institute for Climate and Satellites) via North Carolina State University
Northrup Grumman
Peter T Paul Foundation
Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation via Pepperwood Preserve
I don’t know what Northrup Grumman is doing on that list, but maybe they needed to buy a defense contract.
SO ???
AKA Urban Renewal.
Google “Sea Levels Rising” and “Sea Levels Lowering” and see the number of news stories supporting each. Just crazy.
As seas rise, researchers say devastating floods could soon wreak havoc on cities in New Jersey
And that’s bad, why?
