My son-in-law, S/Sgt Brian Smith, 2nd Munition Squadron, Barksdale AFB, and my granddaughter, Ava Sermon was involved in an accident in Camden County, TN. They were on their way to visit his folks near Hendersonville. My daughter, Jessica, and grandson, Liam were to join him there today.
Thursday afternoon, after hydroplaning during a downpour, Brians' car was struck by a semi...we lost Brian. Little Ava is at Vanderbilt University Childrens Hospital.
Please pray for our families, and Baby Ava. Things are very hectic, so I must say thanks in advance. I'll update when possible.
Bumping that hug and prayers to the top.

Beautiful ceremony....heart is busted to pieces. better update tomorrow :(
My damned eyes gotta quit leakin’.
We love you, Bob... just TRY to sleep...
:(
Prayers for you all.
My heart goes out to you and prayers continue....
During Ava’s therapy, please make sure someone is reading to her, starting with rhyming books (nursery rhymes, Dr. Seuess, Shel Silverstein). Ava will learn to anticipate the rythym/upcoming rhyme which in turn will increase her attention span.
Prayers continue....
Sweet Kathy in Alaska! Thank you for the thoughtful tribute to Brian. I shared all Freeper prayers, and comments to Brian, Sr., and Kinney today. I was torn between doing it, or not; I found some comfort in everyones’ words, and I think they did, also. I will visit the Canteen soon!
Little Ava is doing well. We have been working her hard, and the fine staff say we might get her out tomorrow, 3-16....I don’t believe in coincidence. Prayer is Powerful, indeed. She has a tough time ahead in very intense therapy, but it will be local, out-patient at the Sutton Childrens’ Hospital in Shreveport.
Pray hard on the Smith family, and Jessica...they’ve a long road to go. Open or closeted, pray hard.
It’s time to close this thread, or not. I’ll update on anything of import, and PM prayer will immediately be sent to the family. We thank our Freeper Family for your continued prayers, and support.
So good to hear that Little Ava is doing better. Prayer is powerful, and 3-16! Hmmm...she has a good family group to help her on her road to full recovery.
Prayers will continue for the Smith family, and Jessica, and little Ava.
Work hard, Ava!
Bob....I don’t know if we WANT you to close this thread. We want to hear about Ava’s progress. Well, I know I do....
We’ll all continue to pray for Jessica, the Smith family and for Ava...and you!
3-16. Good numbers there. ;)

Prayers lifting.
For comfort and to find strength in the loss of S.Sgt Brian Smith. We are all in his debt, and thank him for his service, as we do you, and his father. Godspeed good sir.
And with thanks, for MissAva’s continuing steady recovery, and for her being able to go home.
May God hold you all close, and give you strength in this painful time.

Thank you for the update. Prayers continue...
bless her little heart. We hope she is healed bodily and mentally. So much sadness. Dear God
Thank you, everyone for your prayers.
Sweet Baby Ava was discharged 3-16-12, and is now home in Louisiana. We had a wonderful evening, last night in Nashville...her improvement in the hospital was remarkable, but went through the roof after getting out of that sterile setting.
Grandpa, and Grandma Smith drove down from Gallatin, and we made an evening of it. Please, please keep Brian, Sr., and Kinney in your prayers.
Ava will probably start her therapy Tuesday...Game On!
YEA AVA!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks SO much for the update! Game On, INDEED! :)
Thank you Lord...

Thank you Lord! SO glad to hear of MissAva’s homecoming and of how everyone has been lifted up by it!
We are indeed blessed Lord, with the affirmation of our faith shining in the resilence of a small child.
May God bless and keep you all close, FRiend.
