Christians do not have a right to wear a cross or crucifix openly at work, the Government is to argue in a landmark court case.
In a highly significant move, ministers will fight a case at the European Court of Human Rights in which two British women will seek to establish their right to display the cross.
It is the first time that the Government has been forced to state whether it backs the right of Christians to wear the symbol at work. A document seen by The Sunday Telegraph discloses that ministers will argue that because it is not a requirement of the Christian faith, employers can ban the wearing of the cross and sack workers who insist on doing so.
The Governments position received an angry response last night from prominent figures including Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury.
He accused ministers and the courts of dictating to Christians and said it was another example of Christianity becoming sidelined in official life.

Coming soon to a muzzilized country near you!
The solution is a Cross Tattooed in the middle of the forehead. This is common in the areas where Islamofascism is intruding into traditional Coptic areas.
Tea, but try taking away the Muslim headpieces and you will find yourself without a head.
Hmmm, doesn’t the Bible prohibit tattoos?
Good grief, Jews don’t HAVE to wear yarmulkes but if someone was “offended” by someone wearing one they’d rightfully be called a bigot. And it would not surprise me in the least if Stars of David are banned in Britain, too. Britain doesn’t realize the whirlwind they are reaping. What a cesspool that once great country has become.
So much for the “Conservative” government.
The Copts in Egypt definitely put it on the line every time they walk out the door with a cross tattooed on the forehead.
“...Britons neeeever will be slaves....” blah, blah, blah..

That country being the USA, sooner than any of us would like to imagine.
Make it with an erasable ink pen. No tats for me.
It should be up the employer. If he wants to let his employees wear a cross, fine. If not, that’s fine too.
The rub would be if certain groups and their symbols are given special protection while Christian symbols are not.
A crucifix is not jewelry.
The continuing of cleansing society of Christianity and its symbols. And thus helping end a cornerstone of Western civilization.
I can only imagine what a sad sad place the formerly great Britain is now.
Wouldn’t life be so much easier if people would unpucker their sphincters?
“And thus helping end a cornerstone of Western civilization.”

Yes.
The entire foundation, actually.
There, fixed it.
From the article, it seems the LGBT folks are the ones wanting to ban Catholic or other Christian symbols. Kill religion is their goal.
