In an appearance on ABCs The View on Monday, Georgetown Law student and womens contraception activist Sandra Fluke told viewers to check out Media Matters for examples of over-the-top conservative rhetoric.
When asked by co-host Joy Behar if she had anything to say to her critics, Fluke, who made headlines last because of the attacks and subsequent apology she received from conservative talker Rush Limbaugh, encouraged viewers to check out Media Matters website.
Well, I would encourage everyone to go to Media Matters because they have an excellent story on their website that gives a list of the various commentators who engaged in this type of language Glenn Beck for one, Fluke said. And I think it is really important for us all to understand that this was not one person who went crazy and made funny, outrageous statements. This is evidently a segment of our political commentators who think that its acceptable in todays society to say these things about women."

There’s an amphitheater in Concord, CA called Sleep Train Pavilion.
I’d suggest, if you live around there, boycott each and every show or concert at that venue until it finds a new sponsor.
My suggestion to those who want to fight back. Women who are for freedom, send your empty birth control dispenser with receipt if you still have it to Pelosie. Let her know as a conservative woman you know how to obtain birth control at lower cost than the brilliant provocateur Fluke.
Rush was trying to figure out why he needed to pay a Cornell grad and GeoTown Law student a thousand bucks a year to have sex. Get over your hyperbole.
Behar's not even as sharp as a bowling ball.
Oh but Ed Schultz’ apology to Laura Ingram was heartfelt don’cha know and Rush’s is not acceptable
Behar’s too stupid to understand just how wealthy he is and how he can pay for all of his healthcare out of pocket without batting an eyelash. He doesn’t need to enroll in Obamacare. He has said he won’t be forced into the system.

My understanding is that Limbaugh made comments about her on February 29, March 1, March 2, and March 3. If I implied that Limbaugh spend the entire day on Fluke, then I apologize. On all four days, he attributed statements to her that she didn't make. Statements that people on this site still believe she made. And he said outrageous things about her that he made up.
I’m not a rushbot, but mega dittos. I remarked tonight that I am seeing a ramped of effort by the forces of evil this week. The people need to make no mistake... camp A or camp B are the choices.
Don’t forget the women on the View said calling Sharon Angle a Bitch was a term of endearment. What hypocrites.
Pray for America
“Limbaugh spent four days making up outrageous things that Fluke supposedly said about her sex life and the amount of sex she was having, when Fluke never even mentioned her own contraception. “
Not true, so can the outrage.
Limbaugh made it very clear that IF Fluke was using $1000/year preventing birth control, THEN she was a slut. His point, if you would bother to listen, was that of COURSE she did no such thing. She didn’t have 1,000+ lovers each year - no one does. Thus, she was lying.
But of course, you might have to listen to someone besides Media Matters to find that out...
She’s so Fluked up... ;)
“Over and over he kept saying she wanted to be paid for having sex.”
She does. She wants Congress to make it mandatory for everyone to pay for birth control for those who have sex. If she could convince someone to have sex with her, she would be included.
And your remarks do NOTHING to cover for her gross overestimation of the cost of birth control ($3000 for three years as though that is "typical" and as though there are not generic brands, "womyn's clinics", or even boyfriends / husbands to help buy them). Yes I read her remarks -- one of her "cases" was a married woman who was "forced" to forgo contraception because "she couldn't afford it".
1) That's the Obaama economy
2) WTF is she doing going to Georgetown ($40k/yr) when she can't afford $3000/3 years ?
3) WTF should Georgetown, or the taxpayers, fund her poor lifestyle choices? If that student can't afford contraception, it's a safe bet she can't afford either an abortion OR a child. She should have held off of marriage until she could reasonable afford the responsibilities thereof, rather than biting off more than she could chew.
4) Or she could use the Lewinsky method: as contraception doesn't bother her, she can't be TOO persnickety about alternative methods, right?
And the other case, of the womyn who ran off crying because "her insurance didn't cover the contraception" ?? Whatever happened to "I am woman, hear me roar?"
(Georgetown allows other insurance plans besides its own, which *do* cover contraception. And Fluke knew of Georgetown's policy and joined the Law School in the past with the express aim of trying to change their policy.)
Not to mention that this wasn't (as you love to point out on another thread) SWORN testimony: it wasn't before the real committee: it was just a fabulously scripted photo-opt.
She's merely a TROJAN WHORSE for those who do want us to subsidize their sleeping around, and those in the background, far more evil than them, who want to gain the right to dictate whether or not women will be allowed to HAVE children (cost containment, as Darth Sibelius reminds us).
Nice try, though.
Cheers!
New tagline!
I looked at her twitter page tonight...nothing of interest, other than looking at the 25 or so people she follows...all liberal media hacks like Ed whatever-his-name-is, Maddow, etc. Also a few far left anti-man liberal women politicians. She’s a leftist political tool.
I encourage everyone to send Fluke a card telling her she’s a cheap slut.
Media Matters has been known to selectively redact comments to deliberately take them out of context including falsely attributing read passages (that are REFUTED by the host after reading them) to the host and not the author being quoted.
Interesting she would appear on GBLT-DISNEY-ABC’s The Shrew after George Stephanopolus opened this whole can of worms on behalf of the White House several weeks ago at a GOP debate.
