King James Version (KJV)

Psalm 84

” 1.How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!

2.My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

3.Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.

4.Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

5.Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

6.Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

7.They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

8.O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.

9.Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

10.For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

1.1For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12.O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusts in thee.”

When we are joyful at heart,
it is natural to sing to our LORD!

I agree over overwhelmingly!
Trying to take power from the corrupt is even harder.

Good Monday Morning Teenie!

Thanks for the pretty graphic and the reminder....LOL! I’m cleaning the downstairs bathroom (my favorite job in the whole wide world). I am about half-way as it needed so much. Good knows I was teasing just now, not lying!

Graphic by Billie

In Their Hands

Their daily jobs are risky,
But it is what they do.
They risk their lives for others,
Protecting me and you.
They fight fires and they fight crooks,
They fight our foreign foes.
When no fight is going on,
They still stay on their toes.
They train and wait, wait and train,
Praying they won't need it.
But danger always rears its head,
Then they go defeat it.
A simpler life, they could lead,
But that's not in their plans.
Freedom's future one could say,
Is resting in their hands.

Very good poem about those who choose to do the hard jobs. Once I was told flying is hours and hours of boredom and about 30 seconds of sheer terror.

It is like that. Thanks, for posting the poem.

God Bless Our Troops

The average age of the military man is 19 years. He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who, under normal circumstances is considered by society as half man, half boy Not yet dry behind the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old enough to die for his country. He never really cared much for work and he would rather wax his own car than wash his father’s; but he has never collected unemployment either.

He’s a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, And has a steady girlfriend That either broke up with him when he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away.

He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he was at home because he is working or fighting from before dawn to well after dusk.

He has trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him, But he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds And reassemble it in less time in the dark.

He can recite to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop or stop until he is told to march. He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation, but he is not without spirit or individual dignity. He is self-sufficient

He has two sets of fatigues: He washes one and wears the other.

He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, But never to clean his rifle.

He can cook his own meals, mend his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay and still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death then he should have in his short lifetime.

He has stood atop mountains of dead bodies, and helped to create them. He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat
and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ‘square-away’ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.

In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grand father, And Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy.

He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except our friendship and understanding. Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to war when our nation calls us to do so.

God Bless Our Troops!

Sure is a wonderful writing, yorkie. It would be nice
if the author was known, wouldn’t it? None of us can
imagine what it would be like to be in their places.
They are truly heroes and I’m proud and love each and
every one of them.

So Beautiful!
I have been out on the upstairs deck watching our weather..The high winds died suddenly..The blue sky that had appeared to the south turned gray and the rain started..I came in when a big streak of lightening looked too close for comfort. Big thunderboomers! Tornado watch for all of Central Texas..but watches are not warnings..There is one SW of us.

Instead of TV..I’ve been sky watching..The winds have been so strong and it changed completely when I would leave to get more coffee..
Daughter and I have been searching for the name of the yellow wildflowers.
I’m enjoying my stay..Will be here til next weekend.

How is PT going., yorkie?.I think of you daily ..Prayers continue.

(((HUGS)))
