Noot has surrendered the field to Obummer before the battle begins...Will he beat O-Jackass on ANY issue?

Free Speech? Abortion? Defense of Marriage (DOMA)? Economy, Tarp, & Bailouts? Gorebull Warming & Energy? Healthcare? Education? Illegal Immigration? Corruption, Ethics & Vaulues? National Security?

Nope...Newt surrendered each and every issue that matters in this election. His record on each issue more resembles Obama’s 1st term than anything “conservative”.

Breaking News for a 100-vote straw poll? Are you kidding me?

That’s just ridiculous. You should be ashamed.

Four weeks ago I thought Newt would be our only chance against Romney. I came out in support of NEWT.....after that great Tuesday and a good dose of prayer , I realize no amount of money or polls will win this one. THIS is being won on our knees!!

I’ve come back into the Santorum camp! and PRAYING!!

I hate to say this but if Santorum takes Georgia, Newt should drop out. Especially if Santorum also takes Michigan. Maybe make the deal to take the #2 spot on the ticket for Newt.

the headline is way off, only 100 votes were done. Talk about misleading headlines. As for Santorum or Newt or the liberal Romney, none are good enough to beat obama and if the GOP doe snot yet figure this out then they have yet again pissed all over us , not to mention on top of pissing on the base down here in the south with their attacks right after SC Romney does not get the base nor does he get many votes. Santorum will be classed as a religious nut especially after saying God told him to run who also could not win even his own state or get re-election. Newt will have those bogus charges brought up, anyone with a brain knows the establishment does not want Newt and the establishment would rather lose to obama than back Newt as they know Newt is not a yes man like the other two. Sarah, Col Allen West, the NM Gov, hell it is not like we have a few decent people to run but yet again those up in the north east and beltway thinks that the country , or us out in real America wants another big spending, pork spending RINO

Well the fact that it occurred in GA outside Atlanta, which is considered heavy Newt territory, and also the fact that the Paultards ended up not manipulating the results, I thought it was important. Especially since no new polls have come out of GA since the Rosetta Stone/Savannah one from over a week ago.

I didn’t think it would be in Breaking News this long though. I thought stories were there for no more than a few hours and bumped down after that.

but but but God told him to run, he Santorum said so.

We are so frigging screwed only the GOP could screw this up, they spent millions attacking Newt and they went all out for heir man Romney .

So long as they keep Newt out of the race then they get their pork spending yes whiny pansy candidate and get to keep their power and keep spending.

Santorum has no charisma and I don’t have a problem with someone who is socially conservative, but this guy is a loser big time. Never has had a real job and I just don’t like him—never did even when he was PA senator. He is a DC insider and a big spender not to mention he comes across as sanctimonious.

George W Bush was also strong on the social issues and look where that got us. I am looking for a strong fiscal conservative who has a clue about the private sector. Santorum doe not. Get that first and the social issues will take care of themselves.

don't come on here as much due to crap misleading headlines and the fighting being done. Newt would have been a great candidate but the establishment went all out for him after SC, they got their talking heads on TV and spent millions to take him out. Santorum stayed in at that time though he was losing and could not either win one county in SC, FL and then spent what little money he had on attacking Newt who was not in first place after FL. Romney does not have support from the base and does not get the vote out. So what we have here which many seem to be missing is that none of them stand a good chance of winning against obama. Santorum after saying God told him to keep in the running will be classed as a religious nut and it does not help when he keeps bringing up stupid remarks and his pork spending or praising Romney. Newt's past is brought up by the establishment even though they were all false but the establishment would rather lose to obama than defend Newt as they know Newt would shape up both sides of the aisle . Romney is just the north east out of touch elitist liberal, full stop nuff said on that bozo. I'm sick of either supporters putting up crap headlines like this or saying their guy will win because he is great but many ignore the problems with their guy. Now Bush is mentioned, how depressing is that. We have Sarah, Col, Allen West etc who can take obama on, who can excite the base but I guess them supporting Newt is never going to happen to the establishment . Crap president and we have the establishment yet again taking out certain candidates to get their yes man and pork spending and screwing all of this up

He has a better chance than Gingrich.

I absolutely agree. For one thing, while he may be more passionately hated by voters who are going to vote for Obama no matter what, Santorum is far less unpopular among independents and swing voters than Gingrich is.

Furthermore, while I personally am not a big fan of his proposal to give manufacturers and those with large numbers of children preferential tax treatment, there's no denying that his populist, pro-manufacturing, socially conservative message will be appealing to Reagan Democrats and can energize the socially conservative vote in a number of key states. It is a campaign built to win in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and the rest of the industrial Midwest, which is the key region in today's Presidential elections.

One need only look back to 2004 to see how important this segment of the vote is in the midwest. The state that decided the 2004 election was quintessentially "purple" Ohio, and the turnout in Appalachian Ohio due in large part to the gay marriage proposition sealed the deal.

Perhaps even more important is Hamilton County (Cincinnati), which Bush won by over 20,000 votes in 2004, but Obama won by over 20,000 votes in 2008. This is crucial, because Cincinnati had only voted Democrat in one election - 1964 - since World War 2 and was the only major city not to vote for FDR. Cincinnati, like the rest of southern Ohio and like some important northern counties like Sandusky that also swung to Obama in 2008, is socially conservative and tends to be more populist economically. In other words, it is ripe ground for Santorum in a way it is not for Romney or Gingrich.

It is absolutely essential for any Republican to reverse the 2008 result in Hamilton County in order to win Ohio, and it is absolutely essential for any Republican to win Ohio and at the very least one other midwestern state or Pennsylvania in order to win the election. My own problems with Santorum aside, he is probably the best candidate to do it.

All you “divisism” comment shows is that some folks are far too easily willing to compromise their positions for their need to “win”....blurring the differences between the GOP and the JACKASS party. For all the Santorum detractors....I’d rather have the guy who made a few bad plays on our team than the guy who ran the ball for the OTHER team whenever he got the chance.

FINAL POSTING BY NIKOS1121 UNTIL SANITY RETURNS

Everyone knows that I’m for Newt. I attended the PTC rally adjacent to Coweta County last week where the crowd was enthusiastic on a rainy night.

I’ve also posted that I turned off all TV and Radio coverage on the elections, along with not reading anything on NRO. Of course, I’ve long ago stopped reading anything by the bolemic Ann Coulter and more recently of late by the impressively naive Michelle Malcolm. Rush was turned off long ago, and the last person Levin turned off last week.

Up until today, I was getting almost 100% of my news from FR. Fellow freepers have kept me sane and stable despite the media, Romney & Santorum blitkriegs against Newt.

I vowed that I would not return to listening to the media until Newt was treated fairly again. Seems like that won’t happen, until Santorum is vetter soundly, which needs to be done.

Now we get this rediculous post, and the poster doesn’t have the 2-cents worth of common decency to add that only 100 people were polled. We have to figure that ourselves.

THEREFORE, NIKOS1121 IS PULLING OUT HIS OLD FENDER TELE AND MARTIN GUITARS AND WILL EMERSE HIMSELF INTO HIS WORK AND MUSIC UNTIL THE NONSENSE STOPS.

I’M ALSO GIVING UP MEAT AND ALCOHOL FOR LENT, (WHICH I CAN ASSURE YOU WILL NOT BE EASY).

We have really no control over anyone else except ourselves. I’m resolved to whatever this country cares to do. If they wish to vote in Romney and Santorum, and Obama ends up winning, SO BE IT. Nothing I can do. lIFE GOES ON. As a salaried MD working for a hospital, I will probably be BETTER OFF than everyone else, but I will be dying from within every day for the next four years, and then some.

Instead of moping around, I’m going to spend the next 6 weeks, being the guitar player I should have been, instead reading and commenting on stupid posts like this one.

Sayonara, adios asta lumbago, arrividerci roma, chou and good-bye to all of you!

Sincerely,

nikos1121

ONE LAST POST

One more thing to get off my chest. I posted a LIVE of the Peachtree City Rally which didn’t make it to the Side Bar.
And then the moderator puts this dribble of a 100 count straw poll.

YOU PEOPLE ARE COMPLETELY WACKED OUT!!!!!

BYE!

Wow... a straw poll in one county. Yawn.

Santorum's servants are working hard to craft a new inevitability myth.

If I wanted compromise, I'd go with Romney or even Santorum. I'm sticking with Newt because I want a proven Reagan conservative who is also brilliant, knows the facts, can articulate them, and will stand up to the rest. I've said all along Santorum would suffice as a vp or a cabinet member, but he is not ready for prime time. He can't beat Obama, he's too weak, and everybody knows it.

Please tell me why Santorum cannot pick-up VA despite the fact we’ll have a key Senate race with George Allen trying to get his seat back, where Santorum will run far better outside Northern VA than McCain did, and not get blown out in Loudon or Prince William Counties?

Please tell me why Santorum can't pick up on the conservative margins that McCain lost in OH?

I agree with your entire post but particulrly about OH and VA. Santorum will win VA with room to spare. Not only that but a Catholic of Italian heritage will have an excellent shot in MD, DE, PA (esp), NJ, CT and RI. States where in most years the GOP hasn't got a prayer.
