WEST WHITELAND TWP., Pa. - Police say they were forced to use an electric stun gun on a naked 6-foot-4-inch, nearly 300-pound man after he allegedly stole socks from a Walmart in Chester County.
The incident unfolded Wednesday at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Walmart in the Exton section of West Whiteland Township.
Police said officers responded to the scene and located the suspect, later identified as Verdon Lamont Taylor, inside the store wearing only a pair of socks.
According to police, Taylor refused to comply with commands from the officers, and a stun gun had to be used. While in custody, Taylor allegedly spat on the face of one of the officers.
An investigation revealed that the socks Taylor had been wearing were stolen from the store, police said.
Surveillance video of the incident obtained from Walmart showed Taylor exiting a vehicle in the parking lot, removing all of his clothes, walking into the store completely naked and approaching the counter. That's when, according to police, Taylor stole the socks, put them on his feet and walked farther into the store.

i’ll be the first to say, “please NO pictures”....even of the socks.

Cut him some slack, he couldn’t just walk around the store naked.
Police said officers responded to the scene and located the suspect, later identified as Verdon Lamont Taylor, inside the store wearing only a pair of socks.
They arrested him before he had a chance to steal them.
I’m thinking he’ll definitely make the “People of Walmart” website.
Socks were the priority?
Were these socks on his feet?
Ok, on further read (I forced myself) he put the socks on his feet. And was in the store. So how are they stolen?
socks? socks? maybe he needed to steal a pair of pants too.
Since he was naked, unless he had cash/credit in-hand (or elsewhere...Sorry), one could reasonably assume he was not intending to pay for the merchandise. Although it is possible he might have intended to shuck them prior to leaving, but who would expect to pay for the merchandise after he wandered around the store with them on? I'd support theft conviction if I was on a jury...
Must have voted for Obama.
Why are there People of Walmart, but not People of Target? I can’t figure it out, but that’s why I shop at Target. Well, that, and the lines are shorter, and the stores are cleaner.
Relative of yours? ;-)
One doesn’t buy a pair of shoes without first trying them on so I guess you could make the same argument for socks.
Ok. That youtube link is a bit surreal; reminds me of the old Monty Python line: “and now for something completely different.”
I’m just wondering: did he come by his insanity honestly, or was it simply drug-induced?
Since when do socks come in a Three pack?
or, to state it better, “One doesn’t just walk into Walmart with no clothes on.”
