Toothless Waynesburg bank robber says she needed money for dentures

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Police said a woman who appeared to not have any teeth in surveillance photos from a Waynesburg bank robbery last month has confessed, apologized and said she planned the heist because she needed the money for dentures.

Evelyn Marie Fuller, 49, of Carmichaels, was arrested Tuesday by police in Waynesburg, where she's charged with robbing the First National Bank on Jan. 20.

Police said the woman claimed to have a gun when she handed a teller a note demanding money, but never actually flashed the weapon.

Fuller told a district judge she has mental health problems and lives on disability, according to the Observer-Reporter.

I saw a guy on ebay a couple of years ago begging for $$ for teeth.

There was a lot of discussion at his “auction” and for people who seemed interested enough he would tell his story and show his photo.

Presuming his story was true, he had deliberately used some firearm on his face, and survived, and decided he wanted teeth.

He got a lot of sympathy and had several hundred dollars the last time I checked. Not sure if it was enough, but at least he didn’t resort to crime.

That's so stupid. A bank robber gains nothing by saying that and jeopardizes many extra years of freedom should he/she get caught. A simple "ahem" placed properly in the transaction provides the same intimidation value.

And why are there banks anyhow? I literally haven't been in a bank in a decade yet they are all over the place. Drive throughs, tellers, desks.. I guess some business owners have to deposit cash but other than that.. ?

If she has mental health problems and qualifies for disability, she probably also qualifies for dental coverage through one of the state’s programs. They generally cover a set of dentures every 10 years.
