What is your favorite romance movie? This might seem a bit odd coming from me, but there it is.
2nd question--how do I change my tagline??
The Quiet Man...
I missed this one. I heard they left out the scenes of rimming and felching.
Joe Versus the Volcano
“You were diagnosed with something called a Brain Cloud... and you didn’t get a second opinion...?”
“Very interesting... as a luggage problem...”
I second “Roman Holiday”! Also “Sabrina” - the original with William Holden, Humphrey Bogart & Audrey Hepburn.
“Fools Rush In” - funny, but a great romance story as well.
Brian’s Song
It is actually a Masterpiece Theater/BBC mini-series, but my favorite is “A Town Like Alice”, from the Nevil Shute book of the same name.
The book reviewer of the Guardian had this to say about the novel.
Probably more people have shed tears over the last page of A Town Like Alice than about any other novel in the English language.
They are very sweet tears, though. It is a wonderful story about three very good people, folks you feel like you know, and wish that you had actually spent time with them in person.
Here is the last page (the movie is exactly the same)
“I suppose it is because I have lived rather a restricted life myself that I have found so much enjoyment in remembering what I have learned in these last years about brave people and strange scenes. I have sat here day after day this winter, sleeping a good deal in my chair, hardly knowing if I was in London or the Gulf country, dreaming of the blazing sunshine, of poddy-dodging and black stockmen, of Cairns and of Green Island. Of a girl that I met forty years too late, and of her life in that small town that I shall never see again, that holds so much of my affection.”
Avanti (1972) Clive Revel, Juliet Mills and Jack Lemmon. It is a cute comedy of errors and a great travel ad for Ischia, Italy.
IMO, Titanic would have been a lot better without the romance angle. The sets were amazing!

Good quote.
Loved, An Affair to Remember
another favorite Is “Back Street” with Susan Hayward and John Gavin.
A Walk in the Clouds
Pride and Prejudice...Masterpiece Theatre version
Cold Mountain
Forgot to mention: I have both Dr. Zhivago and The Notebook
.
My choice:
Somewhere in Time (1980)
Christopher Reeves, Jane Seymour
Elegant in both astounding scenery and its hauntingly beautiful score, it is cinematic poetry.
This story of time travel and undying love is superbly brought together through great direction, casting and unforgettabe the soundtrack. (18th variation of Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini)
Fans from all over the world gather at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island (the movie’s setting) annually to celebrate their love of this charmingly romantic movie.

.
50 First Dates is pretty good.
300
Sense & Sensibility w/Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant. Love with a happy ending...something that I wish would happen in my life!
“SLAP... Snap out of it!” Also love the movie; the one good thing Cher has done :o)
