UNBELIEVABLE?! Newt Loves FDR, Models Himself After Woodrow Wilson and Admires SEIU’s Andy Stern

UNBELIEVABLE?! Newt Loves FDR, Models Himself After Woodrow Wilson and Admires SEIU’s Andy Stern Tuesday, Dec 13, 2011 at 3:52 PM EST

t’s not as if Newt couldn’t have known his past comments were going to eventually be called into question. He’s capably navigated his way through his big government tendencies so far and miraculously still has solid support in the Tea Party. Will the latest damaging clip have any impact? Gingrich is caught praising his favorite president of the 20th century: FDR. Yup, he picked the mother of all progressives ahead of Ronald Reagan.

Watch the video montage below:

Cue sound of heads exploding across the country…NOW!

Seriously?! This is unbelievable.

“This goes back to what Newt Gingrich said on this program. You got to get things done. That’s akin to saying we all love the Constitution but there are things we got to do,” Glenn warned.

“FDR did get things done, and then they were ruled unconstitutional,” Stu joked.

But that’s not the worst thing – on the clip at the top of the page Glenn reads a story where Gingrich praised SEIU’s Andy Stern in one of his books.

In his book “Real Chance: From the World That Fails to the World That Works,” Gingrich praises the SEIU head, who remains a close adviser of the President Obama. Pitching the need for conservatives to respect organized labor, while simultaneously pushing back against some of Labor’s more cherished legislative goals, he wrote the following:

” Conservatives cannot cheer unions overseas and then be blindly anti-union here at home. There are legitimate historic reasons for workers to organize together, and there is a strong need for a healthy, competitive, union, movement that helps improve the lives of its members and the competitiveness of our country.

Beck doesn’t say this sort of thing without backing it up. All it takes is looking at what he presents as proof.

I agree about Beck. I used to listen to him a lot. But he grates on me these days.

Sounds like Beck will vote Obama or Ron Paul in the General election if Newt gets the nod. I just don’t see Newt as that big of a sinner—not as bad as Clinton was—as a man—and Clinton turned out to be rather good president (Balanced Budget, Prosperity). If there is something ill about Newt—spell it out and don’t use old 15 year old junk from an ex-wife who hates him and has vowed to destroy him. Lets hear from his present wife—lets hear from his daughters. Lets look at his Christian work hes doing—and his support of Israel. Let the race continue.

A page of blather, followed by a page of url’s is useless and a waste of electrons.

Stop wasting our time please.

Thank you. Go to your temple or something.

BTW why don’t Mormon temples have a cross on the steeples?...

(that’s not a punchline, I want to know)

Stop shilling for Romney.

I believe that Beck is sincere in his love of country and his hatred for progressives and what they have done to our Republic.

That said, these days his radio program with his co-hosts is often little more than some pubescent boys' gossip circle jerk.

We may be being fooled just has Beck believes. If that is the case, it will come out during the full frontal assault, drive by and guerrilla vetting Gingrich will get during the coming months.

Watching the video, I don’t think it was taken out of context. Newt even said, this is going to get me in trouble with conservatives. I understand when you are in certain situations, you have to politically correct. But he could have also added something that Regan and FDR were the two greatest or something.

about Romney, “His positions were in the past. What about redemption?

DUH! He never repented, says he always held the same position. And still supports romneycare. Is being wrong an unpardonable sin for LDS?

Well, CC, hi..

Romney has said he’s a Prog, too, along with Newt. Santorum is a big gov’t guy and waffles on SOPA/PIPA—although he backtracked a bit on Beck’s show. Beck, as I’m sure you’re aware, says he’s ok with Ron Paul except for the lunacy on all things foreign and Israel.

Every person in the race, Dem or otherwise, is a big gov’t type. I am trying to think of when America lived the principles of the Founders. I think it had to have been pre-Industrial Revolution/Civil War. I don’t think we know what it is anymore.

Our system now is corrupt. Through and through.

My guy was Cain, but I hesitate to think he is NOT a big gov’t type. If I really think about it, the individuals working in government agencies are the warp and woof of policies institutied long ago. Talk about big government types.....only now, you’d have to be Black or gay to get a job, I’ll wager.

I will say this. I was a real street fighter now. We are in a war, and 0bama intends to destroy the opposition, whoever that person or party is. The Dems intend to squash dissent and opposition by any means necessary. To wit, I ask whoever it is that ends up reading this post to go read Ulsterman’s 3-post of this week from the White House Insider. This s#!t’s real. And it’s already dirty. Polo players and people used to tailored suits won’t fly in this environment.

Someone told me awhile back in a discussion that once the killing starts for real, the descent’s quick. Well, it has started.

From SipseyStreet Irregulars—and a comment I made to RummyChick yesterday.....(BTW, hiyeas, Chicky):

“This comment is from Sipsey (I’d not read it much before now, so tnx.) The comment is about F&F, but it applies here, too. The corruption reminds me of how beautiful the egg looks from the outside, even if stinking rotten inside. If the millions and billions being thrown around 0bama end up in DNC and 0bama and Emmanuel’s coffers, who exactly is immune...and who canNOT be gotten to?

OK.

It’s been my experience that if you are trying to pressure for activity and information, you do limited releases designed to create maximum pressure upon those you are attemptig to impact. That has apparently stopped which to my mind is not a good sign. It is a sign of defense, not engagement.

Considering the forces being dealt with here everyone conducting this inquiry should expect a white glove inspection followed by a rectal probing for an extended period. That’s the way it was set up to be, you don’t go after them and try not to become the taget of their attention because there is nothing you can do if they come after you. They will find something and failing in that, they will create it and destroy you and all those around you.

Government agencies are now weapons to be used against the enemies of the left. The media could stop that from happening but they won’t because it is their job to assist the left with whatever/whomever it is attempting to do. They are the left after all and they drive public opinion and responses. They are in charge of the whole business in cooperation with certain other persons who are essentially communists by belief and commitment.

If you then surmise that having the use of government personnel by hiring and promotion and their resources and facilities would help your seizure of power, you pretty much understand what is now happening.

This is not one man. This is many like minded men and women who believe to their morrow that Marx had better ideas and Stalin is superior to Washington.

Once this has happened you have only one recourse left because all fairness and equity, all legitimate debate, all opposition will be attacked and destroyed and never allowed to exist again. It is who they are and what they do and they do it time after time, world wide.

There is a 94% chance that Beck supports Romney regardless of what he is saying.
Gingrich has surged, he is trying to take him out.
Bachmann and Santorum have/had no chance of winning and Beck used that to say “see I’m not supporting Romney just because he is lds”.
There are historical an current mormon teachings that talk about the “white horse prophesies” which is that the Constitution will be hanging by a thread and ONLY a saint (lds) can save it.
Beck is (has been) clever so far in his support, it is evident that that cleverness is failing now that Gingrich is doing better than expected.

Look at their accomplishments. Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

Romney, on the other hand, vehemently denied Ronald Reagan and aligned himself with Ted Kennedy and the left. Romney accomplished installing liberal big government programs, defended and promoted Roe v Wade and legalized abortion as “settled law,” advocated and implemented RomneyCare with its liberty killing government mandates against formerly free citizens and its taxpayer funded or subsidized and mandated abortion procedures. He ran and governed to the left of Ted Kennedy on the “gay agenda” resulting in gay marriage in Massachusetts. He appointed liberal judges and liberal appointees throughout his government. Under his “leadership” conservatism and the Republican party was all but destroyed in Massachusetts.

Romney is one evil liberal progressive. No way in hell will MittBots be allowed to support this abortionist, big government, socialist scumbag on FR!

Guess my message isn’t clear enough. I have to keep repeating it and zotting would be MittBots.

LOL! Any post that doesn’t march in lock-step with Newtards must be banned! When the Newties fail to counter, they want to call in the ban squad...just like the FRedheads.

What issues matter to conservatives any more?

First Amendment? Nope...Newt was a co-sponsor of the “Fairness Doctrine”.

Second Amenment? Nope...Newt supported anti-gun regulation and earned a “D” from the GOA in 1996.

Right-to-Life? Nope...Newt supports federally funded abortions.

Healthcare? Nope...Newt supported Romneycare, single-payer government-mandated healthcare, was a paid lobbyist supporting the prescription drug program, and supported DNA testing of all US citizens.

Jobs and Economy? Nope....newt supported NAFTA, GATT, the IMF, foreign aid, TARP, voted for increasing the debt ceiling many times, and a “path to citizenship” for illegals.

Newt co-sponsored the Global Warming Prevention Act of 1989, supported “Cap and Trade”, lobbied for ethanol subsidies, and wants to expand and rebrand the EPA.

What in the hell is “conservative” about that record of “accomplishment”????

In a limited sense, Beck’s right.

I’m been posting for a while, that Newt considers himself an historic figure, a great man. He routinely compares himself to Churchill, the Duke of Wellington, Thatcher, Washington, FDR, Reagan, Lincoln- et al-— all iconic figures.

And that’s why I’m voting for him.

In 2013, there will be only one path to greatness, and that’s to return the country to a constitutional republic. Since Newt’s ego cannot allow him anything but greatness, that’s how I know that he will lead the country in a conservative direction. He has no other choice-he’s pinioned by his ego.

And yesterday, on cue, he said this:

“I am running to fundamentally change the entire structure of power in Washington D.C., to move this country back to the Constitution, back to the Declaration of Independence, back to the principles that have made America historically great,” he said to enthusiastic applause.

“So I am happy for the academic left, most of the elite media, and virtually all of the left-wing Democrats to understand: this campaign is about the end of their dominance of the United States and the development of a new center of power called the citizens, in which we take power away from Washington and return it back home. It is that simple.”

I have no doubt– that’s exacting what he intends to do—make wholesale historic change—and that’s why the Establishment and their minions hate and fear him— because they can’t control him.

Sounds to me like Newt isn’t praising FDR’s policies—but rather, speaking as a historian when he uses the word “greatest”, which would mean “person who’s had a great deal of impact on the course of history, albeit not necessarily in a positive way.”

In a historical context, one could just as well say that “Hitler was the greatest German leader of the 20th century.”

I personally think our only hope is with congress.

I don’t personally believe the GOP has any intent of taking the white house at this point when it serves their purpose to sit on the sidelines. Why shouldn’t they, there’s plenty of money to be made on insider trading and green energy scams.

Whether the people like them enough to vote for them is meaningless to them. Guys like Barney Frank will still be oozing through the halls of congress many years after his retirement.
