Gwyneth Paltrow released her GOOP newsletter, Jan. 5, promoting her GOOP cleanse kit, which costs $425, but doctors interviewed by HollywoodLife say cleanses have no scientific proven value and are complete bunk!
Dont spend your money or your effort subjecting yourself to actress Gwyneth Paltrows cleanse or anyone elses, say top NYC doctors.
Cleansing is the equivalent of snake oil, says NYC internist, Dr. Robert Bos.
He adds that there is no scientific proof that a cleanse will help give your digestive system a break, eliminate toxins, rebuild beneficial bacteria or give you more energy, as Gwyneth promises in her GOOP newsletter.
Gwyneths cleanse program instructs you to drink her protein shake for breakfast, have a solid meal for lunch, another shake for dinner and take her GOOP clean supplements (which arent explained) throughout the day.
She claims that her cleanse will give your digestive system a break and will also improve energy levels by bringing in high-quality vitamins and nutrients. She also claims that her program will rebuild beneficial bacteria and eliminate toxins, and she says she has lost weight doing this in the past.
The cost of her GOOP cleanse is $425!
Now heres what top doctors had to say about her claims:

Same here. Two servings of the pre-colonoscopy elixir
and the plumbing was clean as a whistle.
I saw that guy once. First though was, “what a sleazy looking dude!”
They should have bought one of my cleansing crystals. Last forever and it also gives you lots of positive energy.
Dummies.
Now that GOOP really works!
I live in Houston.
No trip to the sauna is necessary...
<YAY ICE CREAM!!!!
I have been lactose intolerant for years. Most people of color are lactose intolerant to some degree.
I’m all about ice cream, but find that I can’t tolerate the premium stuff; too much real cream, not enough air! But give me some Blue Bunny and I’m all right, as long as I don’t eat too much at once.
I got 1 scoop of local dairy ice cream at our county fair and was sick before I got home, which took maybe 10 minutes. So yeah, no fine ice cream for me.
My poor diet in the past might explain my posting history to date. :^)
That picture makes poor Gwyneth look like one good, healthy dump and she’d fold in half like a seven-dollar suitcase and follow her own excrement down the porcelain convenience!
So which end does it flush? ;-)
LOL! If anyone looks like a rat leaving a ship without makeup she sure does!
Princess Diana was an outspoken fan of colon hydrotherapy, but she probably never imagined that the British newspapers would report on her $4,300 a year spending on colonic treatments.
In 1993, The Globe published that the late Princess of Wales had her bowels washed out with 12 gallons of water 3 times a week.
I said I thought that I didn’t believe it until I knew someone that had it.
What bothers me is that we didn’t have (or notice) these things when I grew up. I never heard of any kid having a peanut allergy, never and I also never heard of anyone having a problem with milk and back then, everyone’s lunch had those little cartons of milk in them.
Now, I know peanut allergies aren’t just inconvenient but deadly and I wonder where it came from, what is different? I think I would have heard of a another kid dying, I grew up in a small community.
What has changed, that’s what I would like to know because what if the allergens increase increase in the number of people they affect and what if instead of an upset GI system, what if they turn deadly?
That doesn’t sound very healthy.
Sorry, but I won’t be taking health advice from a bulemic skeleton.
Dang it all, I forgot to mention. Once I learned of a friend’s lactose intolerance, I started paying attention and noticed I felt different if I had regular milk (I am not a big milk drinker). I don’t want to gross you out but it seems to increase and thicken mucus production, not by a big amount but you could tell after milk. No fat milk is better and I feel nothing with Soy milk.
I can’t remember the last time I had real milk.
But the majority of the human race is not!
As for allergens, it is thought that our increase in hypersensitive allergic “peanut” kids might be because of an increase in ‘helicopter’ parent who limit exposure to dirt and other common things that could invoke a more benign allergic response. Lacking stimulus on what to mount an immune response against - the “peanut kid”’s immune system mounts an illogically robust response to peanuts!
Allergens ARE deadly. Anaphalactic shock can kill in seconds.
At least that stuff actually works!
What has changed is modern medicine.
People who had bad allergies used to die, but now our level of medicine allows them to not only stay alive but they can procreate and pass their genes on to their progeny.
It is not survival of the fittest any more.
Ugh!
That must do a real number on your stomach.
=(
