Third graders in in Gwinnett County, Ga., were given math homework Wednesday that asked questions about slavery and beatings.
Christopher Braxton told ABC News affiliate WSB-TV in Atlanta that he couldn't believe the assignment his 8-year-old son brought home from of Beaver Ridge Elementary school in Norcross.
"It kind of blew me away," Braxton said. "Do you see what I see? Do you really see what I see? He's not answering this question."
The question read, "Each tree had 56 oranges. If eight slaves pick them equally, then how much would each slave pick?"
Another math problem read, "If Frederick got two beatings per day, how many beatings did he get in one week?"
Another question asked how many baskets of cotton Frederick filled.
"I was furious at that point," Braxton said.

Yes, it is true that blacks sold blacks into slavery. Slavery was common prior to the 19th century. People from all races were slavers and were enslaved. Therefore, a fair reading of history is that we, western civilization, put an end to slavery in the world. Looking back, we find that what we did was pretty terrific. Some people might even suppose that nobody could have even believed in slavery, or human sacrifices to the gods, or that people didn’t always believe that all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights. But, look around, we see slavery today, religious wars today, and denial of the full humanity of certain people today. The revolution is not yet complete. And, even, the revolution is under threat in this country. The multiculturalists in attacking western civilization are so filled with hatred that they can’t deal with the facts of history or of today.
This is just pathetic. The Democrats need to take their one-trick-pony and put it in the stable. They just look....pathetic.
Final exam question: How far backwards will Jwan travel after Bill & Dave empty their clips into his torso?
Let's assume that both Bill and Dave were carrying M1911A1s chambered for .45 rounds. Both men are loaded with Federal Hydra-shoks, 165 grain, giving a muzzle velocity of 1060 ft/sec. Let's also assume that both men achieved excellent centre-mass shots, landing both rounds directly in the middle of Jwan's chest.
1 grain = 64.8 mg, therefore each bullet has a mass = (165 * 64.8 mg) = 10692 mg = 10.69 grams.
1060 ft/sec = 323.09 m/sec Let us assume that Jwan weighs 200 lb = 90.72 kg = 90720 grams. Let us assume that Jwan initially begins the encounter at rest, i.e. v = 0 m/sec
Now, we simply take conservation of momentum into account:
m1v1 = m2v2, calculate for v2
m1 = 10.69 g + 10.69 g = 21.38 g
v1 = 323.09 m/sec
m2 = 90720 g
v2 = (21.38g * 323.09 m/sec) / 90720 g = 0.076 m/sec, which converts into 0.25 ft/sec.
In other words, Jwan won't actually travel backwards all that quickly, given the huge disparity between his mass and that of the two bullets, even given their velocity.
Long story short, the theatrics we see in movies where people get shot and go flying backwards in magnificent fashion is not realistic.
Truth can be stranger than fiction...and we’re writing our own history....LOL
We live in Gwinnett county vey close to this school. I can assure the rest of America that we are a very normal suburb of Atlanta and I am perplexed and mortified as to how this insane lesson plan ever got developed. But then I’m perplexed and mortified at about 50% of the crazy stuff going on all over the country.
Cheers!
Good list. What about asking
- the number of whites who did not own slaves
- the number of black slave owners
- the number of black slave breeders
