ORANGE CITY, Fla.- Authorities in Florida said a man who awoke to the sound of his dog barking grabbed a gun from beneath his pillow and accidentally shot himself in the arm.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said John Ebberts of 16th Street, near Orange City, told officers his dog woke him up by barking at 2:32 a.m. and he apparently accidentally hit the trigger while pulling his Bond Arms Snake Slayer .410 shotshell/.45 Colt derringer from beneath his pillow, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported Thursday.
Ebberts shot himself in the left forearm with a .410 shotshell. He was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach by EVAC ambulance for treatment.
LOL!
Sorry, I was having visions.
You’ll put your eye out!
Had a brain fart between seeing and posting.
I’ll bet if he had that one under his pillow he couldn’t have shot himself.
Yeah, it’s all fun and games until someone loses an eye..........
Oh wait, that was my BB gun (and a lot of other stuff /grin)
Thank you, I appreciate the schooling.
No worries, I have them daily. While sometimes embarrassing, they sure do feel good :)
“I think these days people simply forget about wheelguns as a viable option for a small, light, convenient piece, especially 2-3 .38s”
I’m a wheelgun man. Pull the trigger and they go boom. Just old fashioned, I guess. I do have a few semiautos, but when one of my semiautos has a hang up, I don’t have the confidence in it like my ‘100%’ .38.
