A rare species of fish described as faceless and brainless was among the unusual finds made by marine scientists off Britains coast, according to a Scottish government report published on Thursday.
The prehistoric amphioxus species, which grows to about two inches long and has no fins, was recorded off Orkney, part of the Northern Isles that lie off the far northern coast of mainland Scotland.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The elusive fish is regarded as a modern representative of the first animals that evolved a backbone, the Scottish government said.
With a nerve cord down its back, it has no specific brain or face. According to The Scotsman newspaper, it has a translucent, fish-like body but has no true skeleton.

No fins either? Well, everyone has their limitations.
I always find it amusing that even evolutionists cannot avoid using the language of creation. Can't have a plan without a Planner, after all. It's simply not possible.
Ick...er, I mean ichthys!!! You don’t want to find that in your nut-and-honey breakfast cereal!
Ping?
Thanks.
faceless and brainless - That’s half of the internet.
Looks like a typical Congressman except for the backbone.
Could be, could be.
They spotted Bawny Fwank?
Or was it Nancy Pelosi without her “Face in a Jar?
...outside of Congress?
If a brain and a face are survival advantage (as are fins), why hasn't its niche been crowded out? The sea isn't THAT inhomogeneous on the scale of this fish's stomping grounds, is it?
Cheers!
And I thought the Hussein Obamas were vacationing in Hawaii?

Possible reference for elucidation
The Burgess Shale Formation, located in the Canadian Rockies of British Columbia, is one of the world’s most celebrated fossil fields,[2] and the best of its kind.[3] It is famous for the exceptional preservation of the soft parts of its fossils. At 505 million years (Middle Cambrian) old[4] it is one of the earliest fossil beds containing the imprints of soft-parts.
It can't be a republican ancestor. It has a spine.
Creepy. Seriously creepy. One of the few posts that might have been improved by not having pictures.
