They don’t care about the iPad or the speakers. The lighter/knife bothers me, but they see iPads and speakers all the time. There is no requirement to take those out of the bag.

Silly man. Don't you know that the TSA is a make work organization. Kinda like FDR's CCC or WPA. To expect competence from the TSA is kind of like expecting a politician not to steal.

At BNA I went through the security last week and forgot I had my cell in my trousers. I had to go back through and they had to wipe my hands for gunpowder residue. Lucky, I had washed my hands many times since the day before after firing a few rounds through my .45. I went to the restaurant and was served a hamburger and they let me have a nice knife to cut the food. I thought, they don't want me having a pocket knife but once through into the “safe” area, they give me a nice 7” knife that I can use to hijack the plane. Doesn't make any sense to me. And all of the guitar equipment...the EAD wound strings wrapped around a pencil make a nice garrote.

I'd love to fly to see some relatives, but I would wind up in jail for what I would say to racist goons of the TSA, most of whom are Eric Holder's people and view their jobs as a way of getting even with people who are not Eric Holder's people.

That's why I haven't flown for seven years, and never will.

The way to to end the TSA tyranny is to have an air-traveller's strike.

The TSA’s requirements mean nothing to me. I refuse to be a sheep and just don’t fly. Haven’t since October 2000. And you know, I don’t miss it. Have seen all of foreign countries that I care to see.

Electronics are perfectly acceptable. The “take your electronics out” is not a TSA directive — some airports ask for it but they never do anything about it if you don’t.

I am waiting for a flight as well...as I put my stuff on the belt I looked and the dreaded xray machine was in front of me.. so I said.no body scan please.. I expected a pat down..instead.. i was just directed to a regular metal scanner..no questions asked

Sometimes they seem really stupid. When we were leaving California, my wife got stopped through security because she had a water bottle full of water (I had an empty bottle which is just fine).

So, the security guy walked her through security to the sink where she had to dump the water out. Then security sent her back OUT, and all the way around and back into the line, to come through again.

I couldn’t figure out why they didn’t just inspect everything, watch her dump the water, and then let her go. It was more work the way they did it.
