Is there any kind of credible report to back this up?
There has apparently developed a not so underground supply of analog power meters people are buying and installing— since they never agreed to have the “smart” meters installed in the first place. The “emissions” claim from wireless is quite clever added complaint to the big brother grid.
Reliant Energy aka Houston Larceny and Power is hell bent for leather installing these things in our area since they got some stupid stimulus grant. I don’t want one and neither do a lot of people around here. The reason has nothing to do with fear of stray radio waves or anything like that. Heck, something is bombarding our area anyway since my radar detector goes off for miles around our town. There are so many rf signals one more doesn’t matter. The reason we don’t want them is the invasion of privacy. As a matter of principal I just don’t think anyone needs to know when I use electricity to the level of detail these things will allow.
