Your Favorite Christmas Present

I was just wondering if anyone would like to share their most memorable and favorite Christmas present.

I'm tied between being a kid and getting Darth Vader's tie Fighter (with removable wings) --- and ---

This year I got a late model, new in box, .356 Colt Python. My father's service weapon was a Colt Python. When he died, my sister took it because she lived alone.

Sister got married, then divorced --- and the ex-husband took my dad's gun.

Always has made me MAD. Mrs. TTR replaced it this year -- little early. Cool pistol and she put some serious thought into this.

Still have the tie fighter, BTW.

“One was a small cross made of Mother of Pearl.”

That sounds very lovely, I’ve never seen a cross like that.

“My brother got me a denim skirt set along with knee high, high heeled boots.”

WOW, that’s an amazing present to get from a brother. Very cool.

“A Madame Alexander Treasure Doll...”

My favorite was a doll too. I don’t think she was a Madame Alexander, but she was very fancy. I too wanted her muchly and I’ll never forget seeing her sitting on top of my little stack of presents. My parents never wrapped our presents, I’m not sure if that was an economy thing or what.

I don’t still have the doll, but I do still have some of the books I was given, including the first book I was ever given, the story of the Noel. And a large beautifully illustrated children’s version of Lamb’s Tales from Shakespeare. It has a beautiful red cover.

That’s very impressive that a brother would do that.

My dad had considered one of those fancy and expensive scientific “educational kits” and then had a idea.

He went to the hardware store and bought a bunch of batteries, switches, lamps, buzzers, sockets, switches and wire. He added an assortment of screwdrivers, pliers, and cutters. He boxed them all up and that was my Christmas present one year. It was up to me to discover what the stuff was for.

It wasn’t long after that I was building my own radios. Most of those tools I’m still using to this day.

Great presents are ones that change the direction of one’s life.

In 1964, I got the BK-02VF jet, my brother got the Globemaster, and my other brother got the remote control Helicopter. I can still feel that greasy metal in my hands. It still had the original printing on the inside of the fuselage. The bombs had a little piece of lead in them so they woulf hit the "exploding" tank a little bit harder..

It was the greatest Christmas ever.

Hehe I saw one of the jets on Ebay a few months ago. They wanted $300 for it. I ALMOST bought it.....

Thanks for the memories!!

Mine was the Voice Controlled Kennedy Airport. Anything that had to do with planes, I wanted.

"Sorry, but Borat got that."

I wont hold that against her. We've all made mistakes.

I think he felt bad about all my hand me downs and second hand store clothes.

I was a teenager and he was working, making decent money and just wanted to surprise me, which he did.

I will never forget that. He is a very good brother, still is. I am also blessed with a good sister.
