LinkedIn just released the most overused words in its 85 million user profiles. They are:
1. Extensive experience
2. Innovative
3. Motivated
4. Results-oriented
5. Dynamic
6. Proven track record
7. Team player
8. Fast-paced
9. Problem solver
10. Entrepreneurial
The company says to completely eliminate these in your resumes or cover letters, and instead replace them with specific examples of how you're a problem solver, etc.

It's amazing how many job listings contain a description of the work environment as "fast-paced", which begs the question: as opposed to what???
Are there really any "slow-paced" workplaces out there in the 21st century?
If that's not worn out, I don't know what is.

I’ve found that using the term, “violently effective” always makes my resume stand out.
“Then what ae you supposed to put on your resume?”
Entitled.
I thrive in a challenging environment.
I ride horses because I find we have a lot of qualities in common: loyalty, dependability and strength.
Also don’t put down: axe murderer, rapist, arsonist, or sociology,minority studies,women’s studies grad....you get the picture.
That begs the question have you shifted a paradigm when demonstrating leadership adding value while providing a 50,000 foot view? At the end of the day you have to run it up the flagpole to see if it sticks to the low-hanging fruit.
