Agreed. Dogs should be taught that their territory ends where their master’s property ends.

Hopefully this will be the wake-up call they need to understand that breed bans are slippery slopes.

1500 pits seemed like an awfully large number so I went to Wikipedia to see the county’s human population numbers for comparison.
Wikipedia already had a entry on the dog adoption proposal.....
On Monday, December 5, 2011, a proposal is being presented in Cumberland County, North Carolina that all Dobermans, Rottweilers, Chow Chows, German Shepherds, Great Danes, Pitbulls, Mastiffs (all bully breeds), Akitas and Huskies will fall under a new breed ban.
According to a report published by Compass.org, These dogs will be held for the mandatory 72 hrs and then will be killed, they will not be given a chance to be adopted.
If the dog is an owner turn-in, he will be killed the second he walks into the back.
This ban will only result in mass extermination of innocent animals.
A petition has been created to try and stop the breed ban.
Clearly, Cumberland County North Carolina is comprised of human inbred, uneducated trash.

I have heard them called half backs. They move to FL but later decide they miss the change of seasons and want a less tropical influence on plantings and architecture, etc. so they move to the Carolinas which is half way back to where they came from originally.
They do tend to vote lib and complain about the lack of Starbucks and such in the small town where I live. :)

Maybe he’s driving a Greyhound.

That’s interesting Kalee, I’ve never heard that before. The ones who come to my area set up shop down by the border and go across for Dental care, Pharmacy meds, eyeglasses, good food and cheap liquor, lol. Cities like Progresso cater to them.

And no TV show on animals or any earthly species should be taken literally-but “Dogs 101”, “Cats 101” and other such programs do encourage people to look at dogs and cats as pets/companion animals rather than just some convenient sort of livestock or dangerous semi-domesticated creatures, and to at least explore the characteristics of individual breeds-maybe on at least one of a thousand websites where that can be done.

Hi DC. Things are still in ‘hexed’ mode here. I’m just trying to prepare for Christmas. Hope you are well.

Great Dane on the list? Someone, probably a lifetime bureaucrat, who never had a dog of any kind, put this list together.
A Standard Poodle once killed a burglar (Accidently bit his jugular) in the city where I live. I have three of them (S'Poos). I better watch out in my city... LOL
Note : Nothing was done to that `killer poodle` dog, ruled an accidental death...though the burglar's family sued for wrongful death and was laughed out of court... That dog lived another 5 years to die at age 11. My wife who grooms dogs has groomed his successor in that household - another Standard Poodle.
