Although I understand why Cain supporters feel let down and disappointed, I don't understand those who are thowing up their hands, conceding the election to 0bama, and declaring the end of the Republic.
Where was there any evidence that Cain had capabilty and experience to lead the Nation?
Did he have years of fighting the good fight with the scars to prove it? No. Compare the battles Sarah Palin fought even before 2008.
Since he is a radio commentator, was he a leading voice of conservative thought? No. If you want a radio host with a thorough understanding of the Constitution and gov't, Mark Levin would be a better choice.
He didn't have a distinguished military career like Col. West. Working on weapons gives you no geo-poltical experience as to when to use them. Oppenheimer may have been the father of the A-bomb, but he was never qualified to decide when to use it.
Finally, if his business experience was in manufacturing or finance, he would have a better understanding of what it will take to bring America back. But,the US doesn't need anymore fast food joints.
He added to the debate for sure, but he wasn't the end all be all.
You’re welcome!
I saw him after 9-11 and what he did for the nation.
Whatever his pappy did, GWB was not GHWB. And we’d be far better off with either at the helm today than the Kenyan idiot.
You’re welcome!
There is no single savior of the Republic. That is us and we don’t do anything other than try to put it off on one single person. We think we can sit home and pin all the work on a person. Sorry we are over until we get that.
Blech
I used to listen to both over the internet and that's how I came to have so much respect for Mr. Cain. But his voice is a less brash voice then Mark Levin. He didn't bully or yell at his listeners. But both men have my respect. Herman Cain... more.
I’d be satisfied with Next, but if his campaign flames out, who is next?
Maybe Santorum? I think Sarah said something to the effect of we should all take a look at him.
But ask yourself this question: if the accusations are true, does the fact that they've been made without proof excuse the supposed transgression?
In this latest case, there was an accusation accompanied by evidence that money payments had been made to the accuser for a number of years. Cain's response under the circumstances was completely unsatisfactory; he denied the charge but offered nothing cogent in the way of an explanation. The whole thing smells faintly of blackmail to me. And I certainly don't want a President who is capable of being blackmailed, or amenable to the process.
I think the Republic is on the verge of ruin because of the incest between Finance Capitalism and politics. That’s why I liked Sarah Palin who even busted her own party leaders, plus she still had the American Dream in her, plus she was social without being socialist (probably due to the Nature of life in Alaska). I liked her right away and admired how even the left had to give her begrudging credit.
Well, enjoy your politics, you lucky bums who still have some and can pick and choose. The only danger is a third candidate, a Ross Perot type and from the looks of it, it seems that it’s pretty easy to split republicans. You want someone with experience but without baggage, a questing mind but who’s never erred, a spotless past but crafty as the devil to deal with this world of snakes. A freedom lover, but with evangelical values. And this longing for a Unicorn risks opening up a nice and easy path for Obama 2 (don’t worry the powers pulling the purse strings are even capable of drugging the economy just enough to restore some hope). That’s how they did it in Italy.
Anyhow Newt’s got leadership qualities and communication skills are very important in this day and age. Too bad he’s a bit of an elderly fart (and not sexy).
Reagan was divorced and Reagan signed an abortion bill when he was governor (if I recall), he also started the process of shipping American jobs abroad (but at least he stimulated the economy). Newt sounds pretty good for the economy... and that’s what really concerns Americans... Boston Tea Party, Civil War (fundamentally about tariffs and not slavery)... Wal-marts, McDonalds, 7-11s, 700,000 billion dollars of Toxic financial instruments.
Never mind technocrats, see if you can rustle up some saints.
I concur with your personal wish, both of them, hehehe.
I pinged to hg because he see’s these blogs that post some of it, but not the rest, so you have to “click” their blog so they get a hit to get the rest of the story.
I haven’t seen him go after one who doesn’t post their entire “blog” thread and respond to it.
Why on earth people post threads then not respond I cannot understand. The only thing I can come up with is a hit and run, or a “click on my blog”.
I guess the $$ are too racy for FR. Hopefully, we won’t soon ban the term Capitalism!
Who the hell are you to judge what a conservative is, you old troll?
The republic died, or was killed, 150 years ago. It just has taken this long to figure it out.
Smug, arrogant consrvatives like you is exactly why Obama wil be re-elected.
Why should I back you or any of your candidates? Did you stand up for Herman?
I think not.
Real simple lesson here. Since conservatives don’t know how to unite, we won’t unite.
Learn it, love it, live it. This is the way of things.
Well hell, man.. why do you slam Pimpbusters as "FReeper Beaters"?
First, these pimps ain't FReepers and second THEY NEED to be beat on.
And run off, but that ain't my call.
I can manage the beating part though.
Couldn’t you summon up a beating for this one? At least a little one?
Still no response weasel, to any of it??
The Corps has rules of engagement.
The OP did not excerpt. Our hands are tied.
Yes, the whole world saw GWB step out and surrender to radical islam on 9/12/2001 with his "Islam is a religion of peace ... " speech.
With that one lie, GWB surrendered the USA and the rest of Western Civilization to another 1400 years of muslim agression and terror.
We had the opportunity, THAT DAY, to defeat muslim agression and terror around the world, and it wouldn't have required the lives of several thousand more Americans, and it would not have required the use of nukes.
It would have required sound conservative principles and the ability and courage to articulate them. GWB had neither. A more proper statement would have been:
"Islam will NOT be recognized as a religion. It is an insane death cult, a violent political ideology; barbaric and perverted from its beginnings; terroristic and oppressive to its end. Islam is not compatible with human civilization."
Then, whatever the cost, we could have eradicated islam from the face of the earth. Instead, islam has become more violent and more emboldened to advance its agenda around the globe
Stop being raaaaacis, Bucky! :)
You’re one of the original Perrybot racists. Wear that hood with pride.
Darn!
