Just in time for Christmas. Some folks in Dandridge, TN came up with this. I'm not running an advertisement for this website, nor do I know these people, but I did want to let Freepers know there are alternatives to the Made in China, etc. products.

Please add your favorite Made in the USA websites to this post. I'd love to know of more like-minded shopping outlets. Personally, I'd rather go to the dentist than to shop so this makes it easy for folks like me.

Buy local from artisans, farmers, small mnf. all within 50 miles of home. Go to farmer’s markets, craft fairs, etc. Keep your money local. It is good for everyone.... well, except the Chinese.

Great idea to buy US made products, but with Obama’s increasing regulatory burden, the cost of Obamacare for businesses and new taxes more US businesses will locate offshore or worse still close their doors.

I’d like to see the drop in govt spending, which would lead to less taxes and more jobs.... if the govt stopped supporting public sector pensions from the city level all the way up to the fed level (this would exclude military and social security)

considering 60% of federal spending goes to entitlements at the federal level... I wonder how much of the money the Feds send the states which also ends up paying pensions

I’m almost certain I saw a Winchester commercial that said made in USA. Maybe I’m mixing it up with another company.

economists say that if every one of us spent an extra $3.33 on U.S.-made goods every year, it would create nearly 10,000 new jobs in this country

Economists also said that Porkulus I and II would solve our economic malaise.

It's really simple - we're not going to have more jobs in the US until businesses feel comfortable to grow in the US. And not only the current regime, but the current tax system, is set to keep businesses from growing in the US.

Eliminate the corporate income tax, eliminate long-term capital gains taxes, and slash regulations - and we'd have no problem with job creation in the US.

Sorry, TennesseeGirl, but that's Keynesian nonsense. It assumes that jobs are created in a fixed ratio to consumer spending. It's the same formula Obama's geniuses used to estimate how many jobs their stimulus would create.

American jobs will be created when entrepreneurs no longer fear that their profits and capital will be taxed away and when the Fed stops inflating the dollar raising American prices and wages out of competitiveness with the rest of the world.

We can't spend our way out of this. All that said, go ahead and buy American. Just don't expect anything other than good feelings to result from it. The American government's created this problem -- not American citizens.

Maybe I'm mixing it up with another company.

There are many American gun manufacturers, and some with international operations. Browning and Remmington run lots of ads and both have American manufacturing plants, although I think some Browning weapons come from overseas ... The ones I have are made in Utah.
