This as opposed to cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, 'My job sucks'.
Honestly I don't care, just as long as they're not copulating with the dead carcass.
I used to like WND, but over the years it's gotten pretty absurd.
Joseph Farah still puts out a good op-ed now and then.

A dirty little secret is that a lot of the big packing houses slaughter according to halal as well as kosher codes. It is called the profit motive because it opens up sales to more groups.
I know what the kosher approved symbol looks like on a meat or other food label. I'm not so sure what a halal symbol looks like.
Pennsylvania even goes a step further and and has an Amish label (the real kind). I go out of my way to buy Amish raised chicken because I know they raise and harvest chickens in a humane manner. The meat is actually darker and has a better flavor to go with the higher price.
I'm not sure how many other states use an Amish label, but I've heard that a few others with sizable Amish populations do since even non-Amish consumers like me recognize the superior quality.

Well good. Yesterday I had the choice to buy Butterball turkey. I chose the other brand. That will be my continuing choice: NOT Butterball

I don’t recognize their so-called “religion” anyway, so if the cultists want to bark at their moon god while prepping it up, I really don’t care, so long as they’re not putting anything in or on the turkey that shouldn’t be there.

Doesn’t make sense. How can Butterball have enough manpower to do this? It’s not as though the Catholic Mexican working on the line is qualified to recite an Islamic prayer.

so a turkey is going to have one station be the jihad stop and the other station be the kosher stop?
should not the labeling be prominent for both?

I just called the customer service line, 1-800-288-8372. In response to “Are you saying an Islamic prayer while killing your turkeys” I was told that Butterball processes their turkeys to USDA Halal standards. She would only answer the question with the scripted answer; I told her it was creepy and hung up.

Jihad per TV realism series- All American Muslims
TLC Sunday, 9 PM CST
It is an attempt to manipulate Americans into ignoring the threat of jihad and to bully them into thinking that being concerned about the jihad threat would somehow victimize these nice people in this show.
The problem people have with Islam is its teachings of violence against and the subjugation of unbelievers. It is with the supremacist ideology and the fervent believers in those noxious doctrines of warfare and subjugation. Yhe ultimate danger posed by a program presenting the normal side of life for American Muslims is that it isnt accurate.
The danger is in the deception and obfuscation of the truth which results in the intellectual disarming of the American people.

This is like the "meat sacrificed to idols" controversy in the 1st century. Who cares what is said when the turkey is killed? It's still a turkey. When the butcher mumbles a few meaningless words about "allah," it does not alter the composition of the meat.
Two words: non issue.

It is no secret. I called the Butterball Hotline and they told me that yes their turkeys are compliant with halal specifications, with all that means.

I picked up a trailer load of Turkeys from a slaughterhouse in Waverly Texas back in the 70s. The turkeys where hung by their their feet on an overhead conveyor belt and went into a room where a guy cut their throats. They flapped around a bunch throwing blood all over. I don't remember what the guy covered in blood said but I expect it was more My job sucks then a prayer of any kind.

We are commanded in the new testament, at least four separate times to not eat meat that has been sacrificed to idols. This commandment is often in a sentence with other serious sins not to commit, like adultery.
You don't mind, fine, but this a serious, filthy stunt by Butterball...Especially when it's kept secret.
