As you sit down with your family on Thanksgiving and consider offering a prayer of gratitude, be aware the turkey at the center of the table may have already been "blessed" in the name of Allah.
Customer service representatives from Butterball, one of America's most popular Turkey brands, confirmed to WND that the company's whole turkeys are without being labeled as such slaughtered according to Islamic "halal" standards.
"Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, 'Bismillah allahu akbar'

In 1482 Arab moslems invented the condom by using the lower intestine of a goat.
In 1845 the English impoved the invention by removing the lower intestine from the goat itself before using it.
Or some such. This is about the lebenteenth time this particular thread has been posted.

I am waiting for some entrepreneur to invent halal bacon and ham.
It’s okay since we use pork in our stuffing and baste with part pork fat and part turkey fat I figure my pork cancels out the friggin mid east blessing. Pork Pork Prok
I think I will eat pork and think of dead bin laden and sadam Hussein, and all the other muhummadans killed or rounded up in the name of the US... and be thankful...
Joy to the World!
Swedish Chef...is that you?
I thought halal meant the imam farted on it.
They have a robot that says it. I saw it on How It’s Made. /s
I’m expecting my fresh Willie Bird today and it will be going into the brine.
I don’t know if Willie will be Halal, Kosher or whatever, but he will be delicious!
I wouldn’t have one of these oil injected, puffed up birds in my house.
It doesn’t change the flavor, so I don’t care if they offered it up to Satan (OK, they are doing that in a way).
If it sells more turkeys and keeps the costs low, it is fine by me!
1 Corinthians 8:4-9
4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one. 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. 7 But not everyone knows this. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do.
I know what the kosher approved symbol looks like on a meat or other food label. I'm not so sure what a halal symbol looks like.
Pennsylvania even goes a step further and and has an Amish label (the real kind). I go out of my way to buy Amish raised chicken because I know they raise and harvest chickens in a humane manner. The meat is actually darker and has a better flavor to go with the higher price.
I'm not sure how many other states use an Amish label, but I've heard that a few others with sizable Amish populations do since even non-Amish consumers like me recognize the superior quality.
LOLOLOLO!!!!!!!
We always get locally farmed birds from a small market.
I don’t even recall the brand name.
Could be Billy Joe Bob’s Turkey Buzzards for all I know.
There’s one ingredient on the package label:
“Turkey”
I wrap my turkey with bacon, then about a half hour before pulling it out of the oven... I pour maple syrup all over it. Muslim proofed it.
I used to like WND, but over the years it’s gotten pretty absurd. - AGREED
LOL!
I hated to laugh at that.
