Surprise! America's favorite meal may be secretly dedicated to Allah

As you sit down with your family on Thanksgiving and consider offering a prayer of gratitude, be aware the turkey at the center of the table may have already been "blessed" – in the name of Allah.

Customer service representatives from Butterball, one of America's most popular Turkey brands, confirmed to WND that the company's whole turkeys are – without being labeled as such – slaughtered according to Islamic "halal" standards.

"Halal slaughter involves cutting the trachea, the esophagus and the jugular vein and letting the blood drain out while saying, 'Bismillah allahu akbar'

We are in agreement on everything except that I didn't go ask butterball out of nowhere, this is now a very public discourse, is it not ?

The intent (heart) of the owners of butterball was to sacrifice to some false god (allah) for their own idol (money), encourage others to intentionally eat Halal meat in order to glorify their false god,... commandments of God be damned.

Now here we are, in a public forum, with them publicly announcing this, my (heart) tells me I need to discourage this, so as exactly as Paul says, to NOT eat in this instance, FOR THEIR SAKE.

I would argue this is a clear cut case of when Paul said NOT to eat.

My first response to this would not have been right. If your heart tells you not to do it, then you shouldn’t do it.

I do have objections to you telling other people what to do, as your conscience is not at stake beyond your decision.

I think you will find, if you bother to look, an amazing amount of food sold in the grocery store is considered and labeled “Halal”.

I believe in God and trust in Him. I don’t believe the muttering of fools or their servants can diminish my faith.

1 Corinthians 10:

19 Do I mean then that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No,

25 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26 for, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.”

My post didn’t miss the point at all, and had nothing to do with meat — Jesus was exactly responding to the superstitious nature of meat rituals by moving the discussion from the physical to the spiritual.

My post quickly summarized the upshot of all that you quoted. The doctrines of Balaam and Jezebel first came out of their mouths before the acts they caused were committed.

I am literally wrapping my turkey in bacon, it has nothing to do with this article, but I hear it gives it a nice smokey flavor.

Brother, we are fighting when we don't need to be.

Luckily we have a choice, and we have knowledge. We can buy from another company that does not encourage the eating of meat from animals sacrificed to false gods.

Because we have that choice I will say that I for one will not "suffer" this company to do these things with my money.

...And you can encourage them by funding all you want if your conscience allows it. Peace.

Revelation 2:14
But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

Revelation 2:20
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

More of a light toast color, actually.

“Hofmann’s use of a salamander drew upon legends about certain animals having supernatural powers.”

And not to be trifled with, apparently.

Ours seem to be primarily focused on raising housing developments and strip malls.

They’re selling off their farms in droves.

I’m having Ham for thanksgiving.

I couldn't find any of the really good Kosher kind in my store this year.
