When political royalty weds fashion royalty, the expectations of grandeur are high.
But when Lauren Bush, niece of former President George W. Bush and granddaughter of former President George H.W. Bush, married David Lauren, youngest son of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, they decided to make everything a little more down-home and country.
That's not to say that the event wasn't the epitome of fashion and luxury, as the newly-wed couple described their rustic affair to Vogue.
David described the event like 'a beautiful movie... like you were riding across the old west and you stopped in at a wedding'.
The couple certainly dressed the part, with Lauren, 27, wearing a long-sleeved embellished dress with tulle, lace and crystals. The look was completed with a headpiece around her forehead and a long veil.

Lauren Lauren?
The dress is unbelievable!!
The more elaborate the wedding, shorter the duration.
They are going to have BEAUTIFUL kids.
And, I too, wonder about “Lauren Lauren” as her new name?
yep. my thought too.
Says who?
Kim Kardasian
That’s the problem with having two first names like Ron Paul.
What if Paula Abdul married Ron Paul?
I’m not sure it was the dress that was so...remarkable.
Yes...it’s beautiful and so is she.
Money marrying money.
The only problem with that picture that makes it look modern is that it was shot either with panchromatic film or a digital camera in color and converted to gray scale as if it were shot on panchromatic film. The emulsions available to photographers in the last quarter of the 19th century weren’t sensititive to reds and greens.
Not for nothing. I had no interest in the royal wedding. Was disgusted by the media tizzy. But happened to see Pippa carry the train and went WOW!
What a great derriere.
Envy, one of the Seven Deadly Sins.......
Very nice. Poor Neil and whoever her mother is aren’t even mentioned in the story. I NEVER saw that before. Grandparents and Uncle mentioned but not the parents. Crazy!!!! I know they were presidents but still give Neil a little love.
I’m pretty sure the Lauren family name was changed from Lifshitz. I’d prefer Lauren Lauren.
