Any physician in business for more than a few months knows how difficult it is to work on the business. Between keeping pace with caring for patients, insurance company demands, government regulations, and the latest medical technology, there are never enough hours in a day. That's why TMA developed the Calendar of Doom, a web-based regulatory compliance tool giving you and your staff a big-picture view of upcoming state and federal compliance timelines and key health policy issues that impact Texas physicians.
The government's goal of course is to run practitioners as well as health insurers out of business, declare a national emergency and force health care providers to work directly for the government.
As a rough estimate, I'd say half of the MDs I know convinced their children to avoid med school. They see what is coming.
Yup. They'll offer a form of the GI Bill to people who want to attend medical school and in return there'll be a requirement to serve the gubmint for a specified number of years at minimum wage.
Another scenario I see coming is that if a doctor refuses to see patients at whatever rate the government sets, you won’t be allowed to be licensed. Similarly, if you think you can survive be having a boutique practice serving only paying patents, you won’t get a license to practice.
I would not recommend a medical career to anyone.
obamacare = stay healthy or die.
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarters Expenses?
Or approving licenses that require physicians to accept a certain % (of their practice) of Medicaid or Medicare patients .
