A valiant straphanger who confronted three thugs for spitting on the train was beaten as laughing passengers filmed the sickening attack.
Daniel Endara, 25, was coming home from his birthday celebration on Nov. 8 when the trio barged onto the L-train and harassed fellow riders near the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues Station in Brooklyn, authorities said.

I used to ride the subway all the time when I was in New York. Taxis were too slow and too expensive.
One thing you quickly figure out is never look a fellow passenger in the eye, especially if they’re black. Just pretend you’re not there.
It’s not a matter of cowardice, but prudence. Those guys don’t fight fair, and they gang up at the least excuse. You might get one or two of them with a judo move, but then you’re toast. That’s just the way it is.
Over the past week, there have been a lot of threads on how McQueary reacted to seeing Sandusky allegedly raping a boy. This story gives me some hope. Not because a bunch of animals ganged up and attacked someone on a train while other animals laughed about it. But rather, because here you have a 25 year old who stood up against bad odds and fought for civility.
Mike McQueary, you should be taking lessons from Daniel Endara. We should all applaud Mr. Endara for his courage.

My daughter and her friend are in NYC for a few days visiting another friend. They will be using public transportation. I’m terrified for them!

It’s because of incident’s like these is why I don’t want my daughter(s) to visit NYC anymore. What’s funny is that they just don’t seem to understand why. One in particular always gives me a hard time when she goes to visit a friend
who attends one of the down town colleges.
