(Vanity) Anyone else come full circle on Newt Gingrich?

Posted on 11/07/2011 6:27:38 PM PST by jsdjason

He's come up from 4th or 5th on my list to probably #1 at the moment. Obviously I can't stand Romney. I wasn't for Cain even before the scandals because I simply do not think the 999 Plan is a good idea. I'd rather not give the government yet another form of taxation to impose on us. I'd much prefer a flat-tax, which Newt is a proponent of. Perry is obviously scum. Palin is out, which sucks. Paul, some days I love him, some days I think he's really crazy.

Bottom line is this, Newt has great ideas on taxes and a pro-growth agenda. He is the best debater in the field. And it turns out his baggage ain't so bad compared to what's being said about Cain. Not saying the Cain stuff is true, but it doesn't look good.

Anyways, if I had to vote tomorrow I'd probably vote for Newt. Anyone else?

Most studies show it is the pathological liar who gives slick, rehearsed answers without ever stammering or stuttering.

In 2008 I thought Newt should have run for the good of the country. But he was too busy making a million bucks with his books and lecture tours. So I was pretty put out about it. Then he backed Dede Scuzzafuva. But when its all said and done and the dust clears he’s the most qualifed candidate on the platform. I love Herman but the left is not going to stop until they destroy him or at least wound him enough to knock him out of the top spot.

Newt is like Glenn Beck, all of his misdeeds are out there and have been hashed over a thousand times. Its going to work in his favor. I mean what more is there to tell about newt?

He knows what needs to be done and quickly and violently. He has a sense of history. He might be the right man for the job. Seriously ask yourself,,Romney vs. Newt. Not hard for me to pick.

Time IS running out; and Newt does not talk as nice a game as he did 'then'; and of course, times have changed; the enemy face much clearer. America in dire straights; our Constitution being dismantled. And our Military; for that matter. And; as well; all other 'American' endeavors; that have heretofore, served our country.

; Have been supporting Newt and am hope that he is on our ballot. Want desperately to see him deconstruct Obama in debates.

No Candidate is perfect! There is NO question, however; that Newt is a Patriot; he is experienced; and there would be no delay per 'learning curve' for this critical job.

And because 'time is running out' - and is SO critical - we must have someone who can hit the ground running; someone who knows the failings of history; and how not to repeat them. We need a fearless and knowledgeable Leader who is not afraid to lead.

Newt best we have; no question; IMHO.

Can only say; OMG; Perry gives me the feeling of someone truly; who may be suffering from early alzheimers. His wife even feels need to criticize those who 'pick on him'. No; he cannot be Prez! Nor his wife; acting as Prez as well. HIs best attacks and his 'defense' are lame at best.

Worst; and this goes to 'who' he is; how about his 'talking' to Democrats. OH; that's right; he WAS one. Probably still talks to Algore about Global Warming. Plenty against Perry; just on the 'face of it'.

Perry, authentically big on global warming. . .

Am sure; that the last thing Newt is now concerned about; (if he in fact; is still on board; which I suspect he is not; post scandal revelations;) Whataever; we know he is not 'chasing the green dollar' in any event. He is FOR America being 'independent' per our energy; and using our resources now; while we are in critical mode. Imagine a Middle East blow out; where we would be; living like cave men? Imagine if we left for years; like those folks in NE who had no electricity for almost two weeks? Hell to pay here; if we do not get moving now! Oh so many threats; from those who resonate only; to power. Newt would instill 'fear'; and so respect; just not ridicule.

Newt is my candidate of last resort.

I like 999 but Cain isn't serious enough learning issues and policy, particularly foreign policy. There's a lackadaisical attitude there that I cannot support. It doesn't make sense given his education.

Perry wasn't ready or very committed. He might sell me on Texas but he can't articulate well and that undermines any policy proposal he might have.

Santorum's seven kids need a dad. Bachmann needs to work on keeping her House seat. Ron Paul is Ron Paul.

Who would think this is the slate we'd have to go against the weakest incumbent in a generation?

Unfortunately, like millions of voters, I'll be confined to the sidelines watching what our "betters" in Iowa, New Hampshire and the anointed early states decide to hand us because they're just so darn good at it!

Think Sarah has enough ‘family problems’ to keep her sidelined for a while. Maybe ‘Senate’ in Arizona; and then; a serious run for the big one. IMHO. . .OR; she continues to be a ‘force’ on the inside; and she keeps it that way. Just do not think she will do ‘third party’; not this Election; anyway.

NY23

Newt endorsed Dede Scazafavah instead of the conservative guy (that Sarah endorsed).

Then Newt’s endorsement switched to the rat party after she lost.

I’m beginning to wonder if there is a candidate out there that will not implode, explode, fall apart or fly away.

It must be a victory of the senate and house, by a large margin, and we can overcome much weakness in a President.

But we cannot legislate the competence of a commander-in-chief into existence, or veto poor judgement.

We are once again being made to feel as though we matter, when the world will proceed apace in the direction in which we are already heading.

Our future is set. Bend over and grab your ankles.

Newt received $300k lobbying on behalf of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to bail them out; now he talks about sending people to jail. Newt is a whore and hypocrite.

I've always been impressed by Newt but he has a trail of problems in his wake too. I don't know what to think, the political stage has become so dirty it's disgusting.

On one hand the nation wallows gleefully in almost every sort of depravity, on the other we go puritanical over minor peccadilloes real or imagined.

It isn't sane.

Yes. I have been far more concerned about his man-caused global warming nonsense than the gossip about his alleged affairs. Our country needs someone of his intellectual and leadership abilities.

Cain is still my first pick, but Gingrich has always been high on my list. I didn’t think he could make it across the threshold at 1600 because of all the baggage he’s carrying, but I am changing my mind.
My dream ticket at this point is Cain/Gingrich, but I could go the other way. Cain is the sales guy that can bring it straight to the American people, but Gingrich is always the smartest guy in the room wherever he is. I believe he would be a great Cheney type VP. He knows DC, and he knows where all the skeletons are buried, and he could be a great “behind the scene ball buster”.
It would be especially satisfying to those of us who remember how the left and the media hated him as Speaker. OMG anyone who thinks they were unfair to W, needs to go back and read some of the venom spewed at Gingrich. Time magazine put a doctored photo of him, full face, as the Grinch, and called him “The Gingrich Who Stole Christmas”. LOL! It would give me great pleasure to watch the MSM heads exploding election night having to refer to a President, or Vice President Gingrich. Pure joy it would be! An early Christmas gift.

Come full circle on Newt??? Not until he totally and completely refutes this picture. Until then, I wouldn't pass gas in his general direction.
