Any wristwatch snob FReepers around?

Lord knows you can spend any amount of $$ for a wristwatch, but which ones in FReepers' opinions embody the best combination of style, accuracy, durability, bling and overall value?

I recently bought this for hubby (told him I couldn’t afford the car). He took it to the jeweler to have a link taken out and the jeweler was impressed, said he had never seen one.

I’ve worn a Casio Triple Sensor for the last 20 years. It still works great, though I’ve had to replace the batteries 4-5 times.

Full disclosure: My current everyday watch is something like this big ol' brick:

Casio G Shock:

I guess I'm looking around for input as to best dress watches.

We use our cell phone clocks.

For dress, my hubby has an old Wittnauer he bought in the 1960s, a super thin gold watch with see through face so one can watch the works and wheels do their thing. It’s a wind up but still works fine.

I had to wear a watch on my job for 25 years, but stopped wearing them when I retired in 2003. When I did wear one, it was usually a Timex with date and time. Nothing fancy since the crystals always got dinged pretty good.

Go to a pawn store, in this economy nice watches, yes even Rolex are a dime a dozen. You can even find some of the larger pawn stores online. Some pawn stores list their stuff on Ebay. I recently bought a very nice 1.5 carat diamond wedding band from a pawn store guy off ebay for $399.

Rolex Submariner Date. Worn daily since 1983 and still looks and performs like new.

For a not too expensive dress watch I like I've had my current one for about 15 years, finish is still good, crystal unscratched, no chips. their watches are tough as nails and thin to boot.

I put out big bucks on my retirement wristwatch as my employer wouldn't.

It is a Timex, upwards of $25.

Bulova. Gold. Self winding. From 1959.

About the only watch I can wear. Quartz movement watches die on me inside a month.

If not that one then Bulova, gold, pocket watch from 1919.

I like Bulova. :)

The current watch I lust over is this one:

It has all of the functions I want int titanium with a touch
sensitive face. The hands move according to the selected
functions (e.g., compass they become a compass needle).
I have owned Tissot before and loved it, but I am a little
afraid of all of the bells and whistles.
