Full disclosure: My current everyday watch is something like this big ol' brick:

Casio G Shock:

• Solar-powered -- never needs a battery
• Syncs 2x a day via radio signal to an atomic clock in CO
• Has backlighting
• about $50 @ Costco

I guess I'm looking around for input as to best dress watches.

Go to a pawn store, in this economy nice watches, yes even Rolex are a dime a dozen. You can even find some of the larger pawn stores online. Some pawn stores list their stuff on Ebay. I recently bought a very nice 1.5 carat diamond wedding band from a pawn store guy off ebay for $399.
