Tim Tebow was Tebowed in one of the more memorable moments in taunting history.
In a act that surely will be talked about across the country for a while, Detroit’s Stephen Tulloch sacked Tim Tebow and then got down on one knee in front of the Denver quarterback.

And let’s not forget....the Lions have not won a damn thing yet. For all their evilness, they are just one of many right now. I am looking forward to their collapse. They are one injury away.....I hope I didn’t just jinx them.
Last week it was Tebow single-handedly taking the Broncos to an overtime win. This week it's the rest of the team that let him down. Truly Tebow is blessed in the eyes of the Lord. And his fans.
The fact that Tebow wears his faith on his sleeve is nice and to be commended, but it means nothing on the field. God doesn't get touchdowns. God doesn't lead the Broncos to victory. I suspect God has better things to do with His time than to watch football on Sunday. Tebow is not a great quarterback because he is a Christian. He is a mediocre quarterback because he came from the University of Florida, a school not know for producing outstanding QBs. He may grow into the job and become playoff quality quarterback, but if he does so then it'll be more because of his coaches and his supporting players than divine intervention.
Maybe in your estimation but not by me or my source of John Lynch who you ignored totally.
Again, this is about the other player mocking Tebow in the field of play during a play, not on the sidelines, not after the game and by no means not his performance.
Try to keep up. The Lion who make the sack said that he was just having a little fun with Tebow. He was not praying.
NFL stands for No Fun League. Almost EVERYTHING is banned! I do not agree with banning most of the stuff, especially a quick prayer of thanks.
But that does not mean I have to watch people mock a Christian. And I won't.

Well Tebow, at least, wasn’t bothered by it:

When a player has a “signature” celebration (something they do a lot after a big play) it WILL get thrown in his face. Not just in the NFL but in all sport. If a pitcher does something after a strikeout you can bet some batter is going to do the same thing after getting a home run on him. Another Lions player yesterday started to do the Tebow after scoring a TD and changed his mind and did a Mile High Salute (a bit of a Denver tradition). That’s how it works. The only way to not have your signature celebration thrown back in your face is to not have one.
Yeah he’s being mocked, but not for his faith, he being mocked for being predictable. Same as Ray Lewis (TO mocked his bird opening), Ickey Woods (lots of people mocked the Ickey Shuffle), The Atlanta Falcons (back in the dirty bird days), and also the entire Denver Broncos yesterday. If it bothers him he can go to the Jerry Rice, nobody ever mocked hand the ball to the ref and go sit down.

And, I would add that since Tebow has recreated prayer in his self-image (”Tebowing”), his little “dance” after a good play isn’t praying either...no matter how he explains it away.

Actually, Tulloch said that he was “Tebowing.” And Tim Tebow in his own Twitter Feed renamed the act of praying to God to “Tebowing.”
In my view, the word “praying” has worked quite well for a couple thousand years, but if Timmy wants you to call it “Tebowing,” I’m sure many will comply.

They did kick the crap out of the Timmy Tebow led Broncos.

You don’t understand.
The rules are:
When Timmy runs with the ball, we don’t tackle him, because he is special.
When Timmy passes the ball we do not tackle to man who catches the ball because the receiver is Timmy’s chosen one.
When Tebow drops the ball, we pick it up for him, hand the ball back to him and say, “Timmy, you don’t need to cry, here is the ball, now go run for a touchdown!”
Some guy watching the game in a bar, had a picture of himself kneeling in the same pose and coined it "Tebowing". He started a web site called Tebowing.com and there are thousands of phots posted from people Tebowing from around the world.
The person has specifically said that this is done in respect of Tebow and is not mocking him or his religion. There is also a montage of photos on YouTube.
The photos are on mountain tops, desert, on top of houses and barns, in Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. It is rather remarkable, actually.
By the way, getting down on ones knee in the NFL is not unique - players have been doing it for years...just watch a few games..
Tebow himself said he was not offended and took the posters at their word that they are not mocking. Tebow even received a tweet from one young cancer victim with the caption, "I'm Tebowing while Chemoing".
By the way, all the players that kneel and pray, including Tebow, explain they are not thanking God for the win, but thanking God for the ability to play and for the safety of all players.
Tebow and the others do not believe God picks winners in sports games. Tebow himself has said that he does not believe God cares who wins.

I know that we have seen Tebow crying after a loss, have we also seen him Tebowing after a loss?
It would seem that Tebow coined the term in his Twitter Feed.
And if he did not coin the term, it may have been more appropriate to simply state. "It's not called "Tebowing" but rather "Praying."
