With this headline A. Rossi, inventor of an e-cat device announces the much reported October 28 has begun.
"Rossi: Preliminary Testing of E-Cat Plant Underway, Working Well So Far
This is the test of the 1Mw unit. The next few days will be interesting, to say the least.
How much longer are people going to buy into this fraud?
I will say that this looks promising though. I've been following it for about the last year and he has been through some pretty tough scrutiny already.
Keep your eyes on this one, it just may be the game changer. We should know by the end of the week
I ave been reading about this for years. I have yet to see any proof that it will work. I guess if it ever does work there goes the millions of research dollars, and these “scientists” will need to get real jobs.
I’ve read about it, as well. Everything about it sounds like a scam.
I’d get one to heat my jacuzzi and charge admission to anyone who wanted to look inside my shipping container.
I dont really know anything about this, but I would assume this is pretty easily measurable. You stick a volt meter on it, and if there is no other source attached then ... well... then... what happens?

Including the report by the Motorola PhD showing a 3:1 energy gain?
Watch out for the self destruct mechanism, not sure what it is. Oh, and note the doors of that container only open from the outside.....just a thought.
Let it play out, will ya? It's going to work, or it ain't. Relax already.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. All the hyperventilating on these e-cat threads is ridiculous. Maybe it will work and maybe it won’t. Wait and see. I personally would like to see cheaper energy. Is this it? Can’t tell yet. I’m in doubt that this test will be definitive. But, over time, enough exposure and enough hands on experience by people will prove or disprove it. Patience is a virtue, and I’m renown for having very little of it :-)
Thanks for the more eloquent response. I've been following this story with great interest ever since I first ran into it, and like you, I'm simply sipping a cold one, and waiting to see what happens.
Naturally, I'd love to see Rossi vindicated, and his technology finally validated, but I'm willing to check my enthusiasm until it's been proven beyond a shadow of doubt.
Not so with some others, who almost sound like hysterical shills for the old guard power generating industry.
I don't see that what Rossi's doing is any threat to casual observers, and he's not even accepting investment dollars (as far as I know). One Freeper who wanted to invest $200K was turned away by Rossi, so what's their beef?
Particularly that report from what I read here. Who was he again? Did he work for Motorola at all? What was his education? What was his background?
Meaningless, since there has been no examination of the device or an explanation of its function other than vague terms.
Including the report by the Motorola PhD showing a 3:1 energy gain?If you've been following all of the analysis, you would know that the testing process was so flawed that it's not clear that any extra heat was being produced. the 3:1 report is the best possible interpretation of the data, assuming that none of the numerous flaws in the testing had any negative effect.
Of course, if Rossi is "cheating" then none of the measurements mean a thing, since Rossi has controlled every aspect of the testing.
I’ve worked with “raney nickel” before. If the e-cat catalyst is as active as or more active than “raney nickel” then they have a pretty good chance.
Actually, no.
The unit is to be put into operational use.
There is nothing of any sort to prevent the University from retesting it or continually testing it if they accept delivery.
