Only time will tell where this goes but if it's not going to be filmed or web-cam or such it will be a matter of relying on whatever is reported.

Actually, no.
The unit is to be put into operational use.
There is nothing of any sort to prevent the University from retesting it or continually testing it if they accept delivery.
