"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Evening Gina, Whistler is one of the best.
Right now, your mesquite is slowly smoking some stuffed jalapenos. It smells much better than the store bought stuff...a little less sour, more aromatic, and softer. So far very nice. They come off in 20 minutes.

Nero Wolfe is a brilliant detective who never leaves his Manhattan home. He has a chef named Fritz and also grows orchids on his rooftop. Archie Goodwin is his right-hand man.
There have been several tv series about Nero Wolfe.
I just saw this on the Nero Wolfe website:

Come to the Birthday Party!
October 24, 2011
Archie’s “All-American” Birthday Dinner
Featuring Foods that Fritz Never Prepares
The Wolfe Pack will celebrate Archie’s birthday on October 24, 2011, 6:30 p.m. at Heartland Brewery/Times Square in The Stout Room.

Coincidentally,
The Friends of Old Time Radio are holding their very last convention this weekend in Newark, NJ. I always wanted to attend. Guests from Old Time Radio, actors & production crew, are becoming scarce.

Oh, this is terribly sad! I’ve never heard Marshall Dillon yell like that. He accidentally killed his friend. How awful!

The fictional character, Nero Wolfe, is known for his excellent vocabulary, and many years ago, I expanded mine by reading those books.
I often wonder if Rush Limbaugh read those books. Sometimes I hear Rush say a word that I only ever heard in the Nero Wolfe books.
