PLYMOUTH (CBS) Hes known as Corvette Mike for a reason. Inside his showroom in Plymouth are dozens of Corvettes, all shined up, hand polished and ready to go.
Except one.
A dusty 1978 Corvette.
But if you look closely, youll see it has 13 miles on the odometer.
Its a brand new Corvette and its all full of dust and thats the way its going to stay, Corvette Mike Milian of Corvette Mike New England told WBZ-TV.
If Dave bought the `vette, he’d find a pot of gold in the trunk.
If Barry bought it, the pot would be full of old Jockey shorts.
Interesting find for Corvette buffs. Unfortunately, by ‘78 the once-mighty Corvette had been basically de-tuned to the level of a boulevard cruiser that looked fast but could be outrun by many muscle cars of the era. The L-48 350 cu. in. V-8 put out a measly 200 H.P. and, with the automatic transmission and lame 3.08 rear axle ratio, ran the quarter mile in just over 16 seconds. Hardly impressive for ‘Americas only sports car’. Still, a 33-year-old Corvette pace car replica’ with only 13 miles on it is still a cool collectors item.
Grease in the rear end is probably the consistency of road asphalt now, if not thicker...
I wouldn’t drive it five feet without a total checkout, all the pumps, all the seals, all the lube points, put it on a lift and make sure none of the bearings are froze up. If it was inside and dry the electrical is probably ok...
I live in Orange and have met her she is even hotter in person
Yeah, after the oil crisis of ‘73 the America muscle car in general was essentially dead. ...and didn’t revive again until about a quarter century later.
I’d be more impressed if it were a ‘58!!
I don’t know about the tire rot.
In 1976 when living in Wyoming, I bought a wheel barrow and have used it a lot while leaving it outside. And even after being out in the Arizona sun here for over 20 years, the pneumatic tire is still in very good shape.
Wish I could get a set of tires made by the same company.
33 year old gasoline? Even with stabilizer, not buying it.
I don’t know why leaving the dust on it is special. Perhaps he likes the look of the handprints?
The 25th Anniversary edition sported a 454. I wonder why they didn’t put a 454 in the Indy Pace Car?

"I'll keep Barry from getting it, just because I'm a dickhead!"

"An' I'm the FORESKIN to your dickhead"
I had that exact same poster on my wall as a kid for years. My favorite Vette!
I owned one. I shook and rattled like crazy.
