Herman Cain's campaign paid his company to buy his books [zot]

Herman Cain's case against pundits who claim he's running a book tour rather than a presidential campaign just got a bit more complicated.
Federal Election Commission records show that the former Godfather's Pizza executive paid more than $64,000 of his presidential campaign funds to his motivational speaking company, T.H.E. New Voice Inc., for copies of his own books, and for lodging, airfare, and resources, Bloomberg News reports.
Previous rulings by the FEC have allowed candidates to use their campaign funds to buy their own books, as long as the purchase is at market value and the money goes to charity rather than to personal profit. But Bill Allison, editorial director at the Washington, D.C.-based Sunlight Foundation, told Bloomberg that Cain's case should raise some eyebrows.
"All candidates publish books and they offer them as a premiums to donors, but most candidates aren't buying them from their own companies," Allison said. "It raises the question of his campaign contributions ending up in his own pocket."

There’s still a couple hardcore PDSers that transferred their insanity to the Perry Camp and now assault Cain and his supporters. I am just waiting for the lightning to rain down, but they are more careful lately.

Pick your poison and lets celebrate ;)
Contrary to some of the self righteous people on this thread all offended that he rode the lightning, the loss of that one is nothing but good for FR, and everyone involved. It’s not like he wasn’t warned a few more than a couple times.

You must be psychic as I have seen those numbers posted before and are meaningless. No primarys yet and know which states belong to each candidate....Is the crystal ball clear or cloudy? Or maybe just cracked....

Polybius got smoked on this thread, too.

I am happy on this Zot. I quit participating in the election threads because of posters like Clarity. I might be mistaken, however I believe Clarity was also the worst PDS offender.
It seems like there is a group here purposely deconstructing the conservative candidates. The worst were the flood of posters after Perry made his announcement. I will hold my nose if it comes down to him, but his supporters are making that even a tenuous proposition.
He is and shall remain Senor Gardasil to me. I suppose I "have no heart." This was the behavior of an intemperate elitist and not a representative of the people.
Clarity was a terrible disruptor and a very nasty poster. and her ZOT was a long time coming. I'm also glad to see that one finally get the ZOT.
I didn't mind her enthusiasm for Governor Perry, but she wasn't content to support him. No, she had to constantly go after supporters of others and go after the candidates with lies and smears, as though they were the enemy obama! She caused a lot of grief, and she didn't do her candidate any good. In fact, she drove off support for him from open minded FReepers when Sarah decided not to run because she had endorsed Perry for Governor, and I have some FR mail to back up my statement.
There are a couple of others similar to Clarity, who are not content to post supportive articles about their candidate and who also go after dissenting FReepers, but not nearly as nasty as Clarity.
Norm Lenhart made mention of polybius getting the ZOT, but I don't find a post where he did. That PDS troll wouldn't be missed either and whaddayaknow, he went directly to Governor Perry and started lying about and smearing Herman Cain!
Full disclosure, I met and personally spoke with Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and also Mitt Romney, at the GOP debate in Tampa, FL. All were very, very nice and gracious to me. I would vote for all of our first four that I named, but I really like Herman Cain, (who's one of us) and I would love to see Speaker Newt debate The Won. I am pulling for Newt!
Our forum is my first concern. We need every regular user and member to support Free Republic and the hatefulness and disruputive behavior causes hurt feelings and grief. We can certainly debate the issues without personal attacks.
"Most of the candidates" have tougher and thicker skins than some of their supporters...lol. (I am joking,... sort of).
Be well, dearest you, and know that I think you're one of our finest members. You're always reasonable and very informative in all of your comments.

Well, I went back and clicked on the link to meet the Jewish couple who ghost wrote Cains book and it was nothing but favorable to Cain and the couple who helped with his book.
Really?
Sniff. Sniff. I smell something. It smells like BS!
I'll put it nicely. You lie.
One of them. Bless your heart.

Play the jla Drinking Game on Free Republic!
Every time jla bashes a person over an expression of their faith, DRINK!
Every time former hardcore Palin supporter jla takes a cheap shot at Sarah Palin, DRINK!
Every time jla promotes a candidate as salvation for America and goes DU liberal on their opponents, DRINK!
Every time jla abandons that same candidate as the cause of America’s woes, a harbringer of destruction and goes DU liberal on their supporters, DRINK!
Every time jla spouts a one-liner like a highschooler with an inferiority complex, DRINK!
Every time jla makes a comment about a person’s intelligence, DRINK!
Oh and plenty more. Just have a look at ...

...for any number of examples of the above going back months. Just don’t expect to find a lot of conservative thoughts, comments or actions.
And remember not to drive after playing the jla Drinking Game ;)

You like Cain have not answered the question or given a coherent explanation. So once more and read slowly so maybe you will comprehend. You may trust Laffer all you want, but did you verify?
With no payroll tax, what happens to SS and Medicare which are now funded with payroll taxes. If no SS or Medicare as now known, what will replace them?
Current SS payments to retirees are based upon how much the individual has paid in. With no one paying in to SS, how will payments, if any, to elderly then be made? How much, if any?

If the books mirror Perry's idiotic policies, they're trash. Period. You keep saying "if", which means you don't know. You have all kinds of opinions about a book you're completely clueless about.
Here's the deal. You may despise him as a presidential candidate. Fine. But to assume that he has nothing useful to say about anything in national politics -- that's folly beyond belief. It would probably horrify you to discover that you and Perry actually agree on a lot of things, so you refuse to look to see if it's true. It really undermines the credibility of one's arguments when he argues -- however passionately -- from a position of ignorance.
