(THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Sin Chew Daily reported that a Taiwanese woman was shocked when a gynaecologist told her that she had testicles.
The woman, 34, decided to consult a specialist after experiencing pain in her genital area.
It was her first time seeking treatment from a gynaecologist although she had never experienced menstruation in her life.
The check-up also showed that the woman did not have a uterus. When asked why she had not sought treatment or medical advice about her menstrual problem, the woman was lost for an answer.
We sure notice when something snags, or we get too close to something.

Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome
Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, or AIS, is a genetic condition, inherited (except for occasional spontaneous mutations), occurring in approximately 1 in 20,000 individuals. In an individual with complete AIS, the bodys cells are unable to respond to androgen, or male hormones. (Male hormones is an unfortunate term, since these hormones are ordinarily present and active in both males and females.) Some individuals have partial androgen insensitivity.
In an individual with complete AIS and karyotype 46 XY, testes develop during gestation. The fetal testes produce mullerian inhibiting hormone (MIH) and testosterone. As in typical male fetuses, the MIH causes the fetal mullerian ducts to regress, so the fetus lacks uterus, fallopian tubes, and cervix plus upper part of vagina. However, because cells fail to respond to testosterone, the genitals differentiate in the female, rather than the male pattern, and Wolffian structures (epididymis, vas deferens, and seminal vesicles) are absent.
The newborn AIS infant has genitals of normal female appearance, undescended or partially descended testes, and usually a short vagina with no cervix. Occasionally the vagina is nearly absent. AIS individuals are clearly women. At puberty, the testes are stimulated by the pituitary gland, and produce testosterone. Because testosterone is chemically very similar to estrogen, some of the testosterone converts back to estrogen (aromatizes) in the bloodstream. This estrogen produces breast growth, though it may be late. Women with AIS do not menstruate, and are not fertile. Because the development of pubic and underarm hair, in women as well as in men, depends upon testosterone, most AIS women have no pubic or underarm hair, but some have sparse hair.
Formosa her life, she didn’t realize she had a problem.
+1 internets.
Look at your average republican congressman.

Mason: You don’t like men much, do you?
Lena: No.
Mason: Maybe you’re the kind who prefers women.
Lena: No. Women are even worse; they try to be like men, but they can’t cut it. I’d like to be a member of a third sex.
Mason: Third sex? Mmm-hmmm. Well, which article would you have - the one that goes in, or the one that goes out?
Lena: Both.
Mason: Well, which one would you favor?
Lena: Both. If I had both sex organs, I could just screw myself, couldn’t I? Well, couldn’t I?
[Mason gets up to leave the shack]
Lena: Aren’t you going to finish your soup?
My wife lends me mine periodically.

Hurts when they get hit, doesn’t it lady?
LOL The only way they'll know is to have 'em. Some of the worst pain ever.
I'm not a man, but I imagine from her situation (raised as a woman, never menstruated, never noticed any male genitalia, was informed by a doctor that she has no uterus but does have testicles) that the testicles were undescended.
Her situation is consistent with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome.

I’m thinking quite a few of our Repubs need to see if they can find their long lost testicles as well.
She could move to the US and become an effective Republican candidate.
I hate when that happens.
