Vision, about half the wood we sent you was mesquite and half was fresh-cut pecan. I included a note that described the difference, but maybe the note got put aside, so you may have thought the whole batch was mesquite.
You sure did, I have the letter right here. And had I familiarized myself with it I would have used mesquite tonight instead of pecan and saved myself a few hours of thinking...wow, fresh mesquite is mild and sweet...(:
I will say the fresh pecan is a little stronger than the store stuff.

Yes, quiet but productive weekend here. Except the Redskins lost. I can live with it since it brought about the inevitable benching of Rex Grossman. It's 'tough love' for a fan, but needed. How's things up in my old stomping grounds?

And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

The few minutes I saw of the Skins, they were really looking bad.
Two beautiful days this weekend. Blue skys, temps in the 70s. Sun, yes sun was seen in the sky.
Baltimore had a marathon Sat and 25k people gridlocked the city. It was a nice weekend to do things around the house, eat great food, and take it easy.

Everyone here is doing well, thanks. Just getting ready to steam some fresh-picked beans from the garden to go with the strip steaks hitting the grill. And our dogs know it. They're spoiled rotten. Even the neighbor's dogs line up at the fence like Larry, Moe, and Curly when they see me taking the grill cover off. LOL

Oh, man, I bet that snarled up traffic. I can sympathize with the sunlight. It was a little warmer here (temps in the low 80's), but dry for a change. We started to see precip from that tropical storm wanna-be on Sunday, and didn't see any sun again until Friday. Even when there wasn't any detectable rain on radar, it was still foggy and drizzling. That's what you folks got hit with a few days ago - it just went up the seaboard and ruined your week, too. About next Wednesday, we're looking at another shot of fall air that'll send the temps into the 60's during the day, and fireplace weather at night. I love it. I took a five day weekend at the end of the month, and figure that the leaves should be close to peak up in the Georgia mountains. Google 'Helen Georgia', and you'll see one of my favorite little weekend getaways. Great place if you like Oktoberfests, or are of German extraction. And I happen to fit both profiles.

Thank you. It’s a boy! They have a two year old, our grandson Andrew, who just had his birthday a few weeks ago.
He’s a lot of fun, and right now he likes Ernie & Bert from Sesame St.
It’s a high-risk pregnancy, and they’ve been doing 3-D ultrsounds. An incredible thing...

This your first grandkid, or no? It's our third. Besides Andrew, we have a 3yr old named Julianna. Andrew & Juliana are cousins, and they love hanging out together.

Ah, you've seen this TV channel before, then. LOL We have one - Tyler, age 4. Great kid, and shows flashes of insight of a kid twice his age, but he is a handful. Traditionally spends Tuesday nights here, to help Mom defray daycare costs. We're his favorite destination, and I think my wife likes to experience motherhood all over again for one day a week. It's all good.

Yes, the fresh wood is always stronger, as it should be. Nothing in the store can compare to fresh *anything*. When you described the "mesquite" as mild and sweet, Keith and I thought "he used the pecan." I would not describe mesquite as sweet and mild, but as strong and rich, but delicious, too--really great for any meat! :-)

What's funny is I though I caught a few distinctive mesquite notes from the pecan. Funny what the mind will suggest.
I'm heading to the radio. Night Gina, Keith, all!
