"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

Thanx again, Vision.
I've got no notes to offer tonight as my main computer with all my data suddenly had to go into the hospital this week. I'm assured that my data can be retrieved on an external hard drive, even if the computer itself can't be saved.

Hi Steel, sorry to hear that. Oh well. Will your computer be ok or is it time for a new one?

It's time for a new one, whether the old is fixable or not.
It has been a weird set of circumstances that allowed me to be vulnerable to data loss ... and I have a huge and absolutely irreplaceable data base. First step was retrieving the data (which, I'm told, was done twice on an external hard drive). Next, there is a part on order to replace what I can only describe as some switch that started sparking when I tried to awake my G-5 Mac from sleep mode. The computer doctor believes the hard drive is likely to be okay, but I'm purchasing my next computer this week anyway.

Agreed. It's a good show. MGM Theater is nice because the stories can be more complex and the program is produced well.

Oh, that’s a bummer about your computer. I hope all your valuable information will be fine.
Hello, everyone!
We’re here listening to the Saints blunder their way through the game with Tampa. Right now, Tampa’s up 23 to 20.

Hi Gina, I just took some stuffed jalapenos off the smoker using...your mesquite wood. They are good, your wood is VERY nice. It's milder and sweeter than the mesquite from home depot. I can see why you like it so much. Thank you for doing that for me, I'll be enjoying it and look forward to more comparisons with the stuff locally available.

Oh, that’s really good! We’re glad you like it!
Keith said that you will also like that fresh pecan. It’s a really sweet, mild smoke.

Vision, about half the wood we sent you was mesquite and half was fresh-cut pecan. I included a note that described the difference, but maybe the note got put aside, so you may have thought the whole batch was mesquite.
The wood with reddish-colored inside is the mesquite, and the wood with the light-colored inside is the pecan—which we had cut a short time before we sent it to you.
We can always get you some fresh pecan around here, and we’d be glad to. We’ll be going to Texas before the end of the year and will get some more fresh-cut mesquite, if all goes well.

Evening, folks!

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."
