“The Aka, in particular, had a difficult time understanding the concept and mechanics of same-sex relationships," the Hewletts write. "No word existed[.]

They also had no word for "Interior Decorator.'

FAIR WARNING: It’s a long article, and at one point some stomach-turning “quaint local customs” are described. Sorry; should’ve mentioned it in the OP.

Many societies, such as Islam and the old Third Reich, tend to “weed” out the gay crowd. They cull the herd if you will.

I saw a documentary several years ago in which there were some researchers who were surprised to discover that a particular region in China had no word for homosexuality. When the researchers explained to the locals what homosexuality was the locals laughed in an embarrassed way clearly not seeing any point to homosexuality.

What do different cultures tell us
about homosexuality?

The huge variety of sexual expressions in different cultures sharing essentially the same genes shows genetic influence is minimal.

In 1994, an Italian-American geneticist, Cavalli-Sforza,
published a huge genetic atlas;the outcome of a monumental study of the genetic characteristics of different ethnic groups. He found that the human race was remarkably homogeneous, genetically. The more genes his team studied, the more they found all ethnic groups shared them. Cavalli-Sforza eventually studied fifty genes, and found that all ethnic groups had most of them. His conclusion was that, in spite of superficial differences, e.g skin colour, the different races are essentially the same genetically. Later work shows in fact, that something between 99.7%and 99.9%of the genes in any two unrelated people are the same.

If all ethnic groups share almost all their genes, we can make two assumptions about any behaviour that is claimed to be genetically produced:

• It will be very predictable, very specific and similar all over the globe.

• It will be present at roughly the same percentage in all cultures.

We also know that many genes, maybe hundreds, are involved
in human behaviours, and that behaviours affected by many genes will change very slowly over very many generations.

That is, they will be very stable for centuries, with only minimal changes from generation to generation. This is true not only in families, but also in cultures.

But if we look at homosexuality, we find none of the characteristics of genetic properties.

• There is a huge variety of homosexual practices between cultures and even within them.

• The prevalence of homosexuality has varied considerably in different cultures. In some cultures, it has been unknown; in others, it has been obligatory for all males.

• There have been, and are, rapid changes in homosexual behaviour, even over a lifetime. Not only that, but entire types of homosexuality have disappeared over the course of just a few centuries.

In fact, anthropologists have found such huge variations in
heterosexual and homosexual practice from culture to culture, and such sudden changes in sexual practice and orientation, even over a single generation, that they mostly want to say that all sexual behaviour is learned. In the words of one writer J. Rostand, “In the secret coming together of two human bodies, all society is the third
presence.”

It’s learned behavior.. sadly now they are teaching it in schools, on tv, in movies etc. Sickening.
Even though we are flooded with this sick behavior in our culture now, most people will not engage in it.

He better put on his flame suit.

As I read through these posts there is a ton of second hand anectodal information. I am not supporting the homo agenda, just pointing out that the person who says “ I heard from someone who knows someone who knows someone “ usually dosen’t have a clue.

Well, of course. These people are living a primitive tribal life. Narcissism is a parasitic biological strategy and is not viable in such a setting.

Narcissistic vices, such as masturbation and sodomy, can only survive even in the short term thanks to voluptuous decadence, which is only possible at a certain level of civilization. That is why civilized societies have developed elaborate moral standards, to keep the narcissism at bay so that the society can survive.

Since the 19th century, the ideas of weird neo-pagan intellectuals have crept into the popular imagination of Western societies and we have jettisoned our moral standards. Narcissism is now the order of the day in the modern and postmodern West. They say civilization is crumbling; in reality, it is society that is crumbling.

Think I’m wrong? Western fertility rates suggest otherwise: when all sex is narcissistic, we disappear before we have the change to revert to barbarism (which may at this point be our only hope!).

You don’t have to go to a remote jungle to observe social differences in sexual practice. Heck, your average run of the mill east asian american immigrant has noticeably different sexual habits than a typical 4th or 5th generation european american.

My guess is that the concept and custom of same sex relations has origins somewhere in asia minor...and it took place way way before the time of christ.

Does homosexuality exist in every human society? For anyone with even a modest scientific background, the answer seems obvious

How about the existence of rape, incest, and bestiality? I mean while we are discussing the universal nature of man to lapse into baser instincts that are commonly found in the animal kingdom.

Man is a civilized creature which scientists cannot comprehend.

Lets use some common sense here. It says,
"who live in migratory camps of about 25 to 35 individuals."

lets say homosexuality in nature without socialist influences is 1% (could be up to 3% at max) that would take a camp of 400 people to get two males or two females.

Logically that means it is civilization that gives us homosexuality.
