YOUR PEARLY WHITES How often you visit a dentist can predict [...] how you will vote

Walk up to as mirror and flash that Hollywood smile. See those teeth? You probably have no idea how much they tell about you.

Because the appearance of those teeth is usually an indicator of how often you see a dentist and how often you do see that enamel driller and puller tells oodles about your behavior -- such as how you’ll probably vote [...]

--SNIP--

Oral health, they found, is positively associated with states that voted for Obama for President 2008 –- meaning if you had good teeth, good oral health and went to the dentist when you should you voted for Obama.

Conversely if you had bad oral health and did not go to the dentist very often you were more likely you voted for John McCain and more than likely lived in a state that voted overwhelmingly for John McCain for President.

Dental visits are fewer in states with higher levels of income inequality.

All one needs to know about the statistical veracity of this article is revealed in the above sentence.

I'm positive that the entire article is bogus; and that dental hygiene correlates with conservative voting (and that tattoos, piercing, and missing teeth correlate with liberal voting.)

Similarly, I suspect that reading comprehension and writing ability correlate with conservative voting.

Government check holders get free or low cost care, duh they visit more often. Also looks over substance voters would gravitate to him. I haven’t been able to visit in 5 years because the last trip totaled more than 300 dollars. Simply unaffordable. That was with insurance btw.

Those with government dental plans see the dentist more often because it costs the patient less.

Thus, most government workers vote for 0bama, what's the big deal?

Need a dentist visit frequency poll here.

Eight years since a visit for me; I did vote for Palin.

I actually intended to commence a series of appointments in 2003 - showed up, the dental hygienist had left because of a family emergency. And I never went back.

Interestingly, the dentist claimed I needed about 15 crowns at the time and I was going to have two done. Now it’s 2011 and all the teeth are still there and don’t seem to have deteriorated.

I’m the type who refuses colonoscopies and prostate exams also.

They don’t separate out those with a new filling every month (poor, not taking care of themselves, liberal) to those getting teeth bleached for vanity (tending liberal) to parents with children getting braces adjusted every week (in the middle).

But I can see how guys who hardly see a dentist because they take care of themselves would tend to be Republican.

LOL I could walk to the polling place. Although the good people at the Baptist church were scandalized by my liquor breath.

My dentist personifies Rich Republican.

Plays Rush Limbaugh throughout the office.

I’m happy to support him.

Anyone who hears something like that from their dentist, if it isn’t obviously true, they should go get a second opinion.

First dentist told me once that two older fillings were getting loose and wanted to do a deluxe CAD-CAM restoration. Asked second dentist for an evaluation of my teeth and second dentist didn’t say squat about those fillings. I eventually had the first dentist fix a couple of obviously busted teeth, and he did a marvelous job of it with the CAD-CAM equipment which the second dentist did not have, but the other two filled teeth are still hanging in there tough. They still want to know, six years later, when I’m going to have them capped... LOL.
